Understanding The Intention To Trust Product Information And Certifications To Promote Sustainable Consumption: Applying The Theory Of Planned Behavior, Djoko Sayogo, Jing Zhang, Sergio Picazo-Vela, Babak Bahaddin, Luis Luna-Reyes

This paper explores consumers trust in sustainable product and certification information included in the product’s package and label by using Azjen’s theory of planned behavior as a framework. We used 327 observations collected from an international survey distributed to students in the U.S., Mexico and Indonesia as proxy of consumers’ view. Our results demonstrate that the consumer’s general predisposition toward trust, social normative pressure, and the presence of factors that facilitate consumer’s perceptions to perform trust behavior significantly increase the consumer’s intention to trust sustainable product and certification information. This paper investigates the organizational importance of relative CEO compensation in trade associations and professional societies. It is known that there is variation in how much pay is tied to performance in different subcategories of nonprofit organizations. However, instead of looking at how performance affects pay, we investigate how CEO compensation affects organization performance when CEOs are aware of their peer compensation and are able to influence their own. We hypothesized that CEOs who knowingly earn less will be associated with both greater financial and nonfinancial organizational performance. This paper presents a new heuristic solution to the well-known Nurse Scheduling Problem (NSP). The NSP has a lot of constraints to satisfy. Some are mandatory and specified by the hospital administration, these are known as hard constraints. Some constraints are put by the nurses themselves to produce a comfortable schedule for themselves, and these are known as soft constraints. The implementation of Title IX has increased women’s participation rates in intercollegiate athletics tenfold, yet women’s representation in athletic leadership remains marginal compared to men. As such, the purpose of this study was to understand the social construction of gender as it relates to intercollegiate athletic leadership at Eastern Michigan University. The study explored the history of sporting activities as a mechanism to shape and perpetuate masculine and feminine culture. The purpose of this case study was to explore the success factors and strategies of 12 small business owners of independent financial planning firms who achieved profitability beyond 5 years. The conceptual framework was entrepreneurship theory and Porter’s five forces model of competitive strategy. This thesis identifies the priced macroeconomic risk factors for the Australian mining industry from January, 2004 to December, 2013, and the macroeconomic variables that have had an impact on stock returns. A rapid growth in the stock returns of the mining industry in Australia occurred during this period. This phenomenon is studied using a multifactor model and arbitrage pricing theory. The method involves analysis of two samples: the top ten mining firms and the aggregate mining industry. The Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) adopted Statement No. 77 requiring government disclosure of tax abatements in audited financial reports for years beginning after December 15, 2015. This paper reports survey findings provided by accounting and finance professionals (practitioners) regarding their tax abatement reporting perceptions. We then review early implementation of the abatement disclosure and find the disclosed information does not meet the practitioner’s expectations. Our findings fill a gap in state and local financial reports as it appears the new disclosure requirement does not fulfill the Board’s reporting transparency expectation goals.

We develop the concept of corporate governance deviance and seek to understand why, when, and how a firm adopts governance practices that do not conform to the dominant governance logic. Drawing on institutional theory, coupled with both the entrepreneurship and corporate governance literature, we advance a middle-range theory of the antecedents of corporate governance deviance that considers both the institutional context and firm-level agency. Specifically, we highlight the centrality of a firm's entrepreneurial identity as it interacts with the national governance logic to jointly create corporate governance discretion (i.e., the latitude of accessible governance practices) within the firm. This paper aims to present the motives of financial statement fraud and the impact of professional ethics on the detection and prevention of this phenomenon in business. We present the main reasons for data manipulation by management staff. The importance of professional ethics in detecting financial fraud is also described. Particular attention is paid to the factors that are most important in detecting this phenomenon. In the article, attention has been paid to the influence of whistleblowers and the role of qualitative indicators of earnings on the disclosure of the discussed procedure.

Control preferences differentiate people with regard to their inclination towards a certain division of control in an interdependent situation. Social situations that block one’s capability to exert a preferred type of control can be evaluated as unpleasant and provoke their abandonment. We hypothesized that incompatibility of control preferences between leaders and followers would result in diminished job satisfaction among the followers. Such incompatibility could stem from either discrepancy between leader-follower control preferences (e.g. a discrepant preference for collaboration) or too great a similarity (e.g. a similarly strong preference for domination). The goal of this research is to develop a quantitative method of ranking and listing players in terms of performance. These rankings can then be used to evaluate players prior to and during a fantasy football draft. To produce these rankings, we develop a methodology for forecasting the performance of each individual player (on different metrics) for the upcoming season (16 games) and use these forecasts to estimate player fantasy football scores for the 2018 season.

Specifically, I aim to determine how commercial banks responded, viacommercial lending, to the trillions of dollars of policy innovations to stimulate the creditmarkets during the 2008 global financial crisis. To that end, I compare the change incommercial lending by United States-based commercial banks during the stimulus period ofOctober 1, 2007 through September 30, 2011 to that activity in the earlier non-stimulus periodof October 1, 2002 through September 30, 2006.
