Ceramics professor Lindsay Rogers recently had her work featured in the online magazine Ceramic Arts Now. The article speaks about how Rogers embraces food as a collaborator in her practice. She keeps food in mind from start to finish, with the piece only being complete when the meal is served. She expresses herself through pottery because it is a vehicle for experiences. Rogers says, “From utilitarian tableware to complex presentation vessels, all of the forms I make have one common thread: to encourage a reconnection with each other and with the food we eat.”

Do Private Firms Benefit From Trading In The Private Securities Market?, Robert Loveland, Eric Fricke, Sinan Goktan
The Journal of Entrepreneurial Finance
The trading of private securities has recently gained greater visibility and importance with the advent of organized, private security exchanges. This paper uses data on IPO firms that list on the SharesPost private securities exchange platform to examine the potential benefits of a listing. Specifically, we test whether a listing reduces IPO underpricing or enables liquidity provision to firm employees. Controlling for endogeneity, we find no evidence that a pre-IPO listing on SharesPost lessens IPO underpricing. Leading Economic Indicator Reports
The Leading Economic Indicator – Nebraska (LEI-N) 1 rose by 1.18% during January of 2018. The increase in the LEI-N, which is designed to predict economic activity six months into the future, suggests that the Nebraska economy will grow steadily through the summer of 2018. A falling U.S. dollar, which is positive for Nebraska exporters, was one primary reason for the improvement in the leading indicator. The other was business expectations. Respondents to the January Survey of Nebraska Business reported plans to increase sales and employment at their businesses over the next six months. In terms of negative components, there …

With over 52 million visitors annually, the Walt Disney World theme park is one of the busiest places on earth (US City Traveler, 2015). While some of these visitors are regular attendees, most are creating new memories in unfamiliar territory. To assist these novice theme park visitors, a plethora of reference books, blogs, tour guides and other resources exist. These recommend which attractions to visit and their popularity. What these resources do not provide, however, is the optimal order that these attractions should be visited.

Comparison Of Bankruptcy Prediction Models With Public Records And Firmographics, Lili Zhang, Jennifer Priestley, Xuelei Ni

Many business operations and strategies rely on bankruptcy prediction. In this paper, we aim to study the impacts of public records and firmographics and predict the bankruptcy in a 12-month-ahead period with using different classification models and adding values to traditionally used financial ratios. Univariate analysis shows the statistical association and significance of public records and firmographics indicators with the bankruptcy. Further, seven statistical models and machine learning methods were developed, including Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, Support Vector Machine, Bayesian Network, and Neural Network.
