JOHNSON CITY (August, 16, 2018) – East Tennessee State University Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy's chapter of the Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA) took home seven national awards at the organization’s annual convention earlier this month, including Small Chapter of the Year.

SNPhA is an educational service association of pharmacy students who are concerned about serving the underserved through pharmacy and healthcare related issues, as well as the minority representation in pharmacy and other health-related professions. Mobile payment is becoming increasingly popular, but it encounters the resistance from certain user groups. This study examines the factors that influence both the technology acceptance and actual usage aspects of mobile payment adoption from the perspective of the general systems theory. Based on a literature review, it conceptualizes the embedding relationships among relevant behavioral processes, personal characteristics, and extrinsic factors and develops a research model. Together, the extrinsic factors in terms of culture, subjective norm, and socioeconomic status and main personal characteristics including demographics, personality traits, and past behavior are hypothesized to have direct and moderating effects on mobile …

This paper examines the factors that affect clinician satisfaction with electronic health records (EHR) vendors that provide in-house and cloud-based solutions. The study is concerned with the organizational level of different healthcare organizations. The model combines the IS Success model and the Task Technology Fit model, to best fit the health information systems. Five research hypotheses derived from the model and are going to be empirically tested using a field survey of EHR systems characteristics and its influence on the organization’s tasks achievement and mission alignment.

Pricing Currency Call Options, Rebecca Abraham

This paper presents a theoretical model to price foreign currency call options. Currency options are employed in international trade to reduce the risk of loss due to the reduction of revenues obtained in depreciating foreign currency for an exporter, or the escalation of expense from appreciating foreign currency for an importer. Other users include banks and hedge funds who engage in currency speculation. Given the fluctuation of option prices over time, the model describes the distribution of foreign currency as a Weiner process for macroeconomically constrained foreign currencies followed by a Laplace distribution for unconstrained currencies.
