Egyptian Teachers’ Burnout: The Role Of Work Environment Characteristics And Job Stress, Sahar Mohamed Badawy

Recent research has pinpointed the serious effects of job burnout on both personal life and productivity in work. Yet, there is a gap in the research directed to service professions in developing countries. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between work environment, stress and burnout within the Egyptian context. The research proposes that stress mediates the relationship between work environment characteristics and burnout. An explanatory model was tested for the hypothesized relationships. The study was conducted on 325 Egyptian teachers with a response rate of 79.9% (250 teacher).The proposed model included 10 work environment components measured …

Research on virtual teams and how they function has become an important topic. This is due to organizations ever-increasing use of teams of globally dislocated employees, or virtual teams, to collaborate on projects to not only cut costs, but also create products that can be marketed and sold globally. Virtual team members need to share data to coordinate their efforts to meet those goals. To help reduce costs and improve speed, management often requires employees to use computer-mediated communication (CMC) technologies, such as email, to share data. Multi-target incentive contracts are widely observed in practice to stimulate salesforce effort. However, little is known about their effectiveness and the issues involved in designing them. In this thesis, we investigate the incentive contracting problem between a manufacturer and an agent when the realized sales of a product are affected by both the agent's selling effort and the type of the agent. The agent's type is uncertain to the manufacturer, whereas the agent can observe the actual type when exerting her selling effort. Again, this is unobservable by the manufacturer. Credit Default Swaps (CDSs) play an important role in the financial markets. The introduction of CDSs has impacts on the bond market, and the financial characteristics and creditworthiness of the underlying reference entities. When financing is not frictionless, the investment policies of firms are related to their financial conditions. However, whether or how the introduction of CDS will directly affect the investment policy of the firm has not been examined empirically in the literature.
