Raul Ramos purchased Han-D-Pak from Mr. Young. Raul admits not knowing much about owning a small business however he did see a need for the products within the local market. Raul worked out of a small grocery owned by his mother-in-law and had the help of his two brothers and mother. They would all work to package and deliver the products to the local grocery stores. The purpose of this study was to assess the marketing of selected Central Coast summer collegiate baseball teams and their relation to fan attendance. Sport marketing plays a vital role in industry because of the quantity of resources that are allocated to it. Sport spectator psychology was investigated to determine spectator attendance trends. Trends in sport marketing were examined to determine the current state of the industry. The data were collected from the Santa Barbara Foresters, San Luis Obispo Blues, and San Luis Obispo Rattlers. Given declining management information systems (MIS) enrollments at our university, we seek to understand our students‘ selection of a major. Prior studies have found that students choose a major based on a number of factors, with subject matter interest consistently being most important. We contribute to the literature by developing a deeper understanding of what is meant by subject matter interest, which we refer to as smiFactors, for MIS as a major and career. Application Of Regime-Switching And Structural Break Models In Financial Economics, Chengping Zhang

This dissertation consists of two manuscripts. In the first manuscript, we use multivariate regime-switching models to investigate the portfolio performance benefits associated with the addition of emerging market and developed market mutual funds to a global investor. Our approach admits time-varying risk and returns in a regime-switching model with both global equity market and foreign exchange risk factors. Conditional performance, as measured by a state dependent Jensen’s alpha, varies by economic regimes. Emerging market mutual funds provide strongly positive and significant state dependent alphas when the idiosyncratic volatility of emerging markets is small. Career professionals often seek job placement, career advancement, and continuing education through professional certifications. Professional certifications in the United States (U.S.) have been evolving since 1911. In the 1950s, engineering groups established professional certifications and licenses. In the 1980s, administration of accreditation of certification programs proliferated, and by the 1990s, many government and professional organizations sought to standardize procedures for the industry. Currently, professional certifications are available for virtually every profession and issued by multitudes of organizations.

The biotechnology industry thrives on innovation and new knowledge creation, but is also capital intensive with a complex regulatory environment (Hine and Kapeleris 2007). It is seen as a sunrise industry by the Indian government (Natesh and Bhan 2009). The article discusses the need to understand the pendulum swing of human resource between insourcing and outsourcing work effort and accomplishment. The strengths of insourcing, or the use of labor within national boundaries to sustain the functions of an organization, is said to include efficient communication within the organization, enhanced employee morale and loyalty, and a high degree of control over people and resources. It is believed that there would be a resurgence of insourcing in the U.S., mainly within the government sector.

This report presents an analysis based on the input-output method to estimate the economic impact of the arts and culture business cluster in the Saint Petersburg area. The method consists of considering the economic linkages between the various sectors which cause every dollar of expenditures to "ripple through" the local economy resulting in every dollar of expenditures being multiplied to various degrees. The outcome is a larger economic effect than the initial expenditure. These "multiplier" effects continue to contribute to the economic impact of the expenditure until the effects "leave" the area of study or become too small to measure. …

This research discusses the effect of management and decision-making styles on the job satisfaction of academic staff in selected Malaysian public universities. The sample consisted of 1,117 respondents. The instruments used in the study were the Teacher Job Satisfaction Questionnaire developed by “Lester”, adapted from Herzberg’s Theory, Decision Style Inventory by Rowe and Boulgarides and Likert’s 4 systems. Drawing on the organizational memory and strategy for managing knowledge literatures to develop a theoretical framework, we empirically examined the organizational memory contexts – interpersonal and repository logic - that set the broader conditions for middle managers’ knowledge searching. Contrary to most studies which examine knowledge storage processes, with the help of multiple case studies, we examined middle managers’ actual activities. Our findings reveal that in the interpersonal logic middle managers more actively engage in knowledge circulation and knowledge co-creation processes. In the repository logic instead, middle managers’ potential seemed to become confined because of cognitive inertia, leading to a …

The article discusses the development and testing of a network-based model of international clustering and foreign subsidiary performance in an attempt to determine how multinational companies (MNC) enter a foreign country to build their own foreign cluster. It focuses on the foreign peer network (FPN) to incorporate both the social and economic interactions within a cluster.
