Given the growing appeal of the concept of destination loyalty in tourism marketing, it is highly important to investigate the travel expenditures of loyal vs. non- or less loyal visitors. Adopting the behavioral approach to loyalty, this study examines the spending patterns of visitors to Kissimmee-St. Cloud, while comparing between the different loyalty segments: no previous visit, one previous visit, and multiple visits. The analysis is based on an intercept survey conducted by the Kissimmee-St. Cloud Convention and Visitors Bureau∗ (KSCVB, 2006), which yielded a sample of 4,301 visitors. Small Island Tourism Competitiveness: Expanding Your Destination's Slice Of Paradise, Robertico R. Croes

The lecture consists of two sections. The first section discusses the theoretical underpinnings of the competitiveness theory as it applies to the tourism development debate. The second section focuses on the empirical testing of four propositions derived from the tourism competitiveness literature Proposition 1: small island destinations engage in fierce competition. Proposition 2: simplicity rather than richness is a more useful benchmarking criterion for small island destinations. Proposition 3: non-price competition is the most significant driver of destination competitiveness. And, proposition 4: tourism competitiveness increases the quality of life for the destinations' citizens.

• To advance educational and research goals at the ranch UNLV will fund the purchase and installation of a weather station at the ranch, and preliminary research using this equipment. PI Dr. Suresh Sardineni, Mechanical Engineering, will assess the renewable energy resources at the ranch and find methods to integrate them into existing and proposed new buildings at the site. The planned facilities will monitor beam and global solar radiation, wind speed and direction, temperature, and realative humidity. Fueling The Credit Crisis: Who Uses Consumer Credit And What Drives Debt Burden?, Diane K. Schooley, Debra Worden

Excessive household debt contributed to the worst recession in decades. Insights about borrowing and spending behavior can inform economic recovery forecasts, policy decisions, and financial education. This study identifies life cycle and credit attitude as key determinants of who uses debt. Younger households are more likely to borrow for consumption, as are those who believe that it is all right to borrow to purchase luxury goods or cover living expenses. Furthermore, households that condone borrowing for these purposes have a higher consumer debt burden. Debt capacity (or creditworthiness) and financial discipline are also significant factors in determining household debt use.

Transformational development is a concept of change that originated in the Christian context but has now become generally used in the work of both secular and faith-based organizations. The growing use of the concept by organizations that are fundamentally different has naturally led to some confusion about what the concept means and what it takes to effectively implement it. In this article, we describe the key features of the concept and how they are important in determining the organizational requirements for its effective implementation. Drawing on a few cases, the paper highlights the centrality of faith in transformational development work.

Highly Effective Teams: A Relational Analysis Of Group Potency And Perceived Organizational Support, Paul Shelton

Group potency is one key determinant shown to positively influence the effectiveness and performance of groups and teams. This article presents research on potency of work groups in higher education and perceived organizational support as an antecedent. A total of 192 working professionals who were either holding or earning advanced degrees in human resource development, education, or consumer and family sciences completed questionnaires to determine the association of these two variables. The data were analyzed at the individual and group levels, and findings reveal there is a significant positive relationship between group potency and perceived organizational support.

This study aimed to investigate the relationship among individual learning, team learning and organizational learning. Data was collected from 799 employees, who worked in four and five star hotels operated in Mugla, Turkey. The study findings indicate that there is a meaningful relationship among individual learning, team learning and organizational learning. In particular, team learning appears to explain organizational learning more than individual learning. Based on the study findings, it can be recommended that in order to facilitate organizational learning, hotel organizations should critically analyze and utilize the factors that facilitate team learning.

The purpose of this paper is to explore the use of automated inventory management systems (IMS) and identify the stage of technology adoption for restaurants in Aruba. A case study analysis involving twelve members of the Aruba Gastronomic Association was conducted using a qualitative research design to gather information on approaches currently used as well as the reasons and perceptions managers/owners have for using or not using automated systems in their facilities. Supply chain is a network of financial flow while contract is a primary way of recognizing and distributing profits between buyer and supplier in a supply chain. Purpose – The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between psychological capital (comprised of hope, optimism, efficacy and resilience) and employee performance through multiple studies and methods of data.

Design/methodology/approach – The study included two samples in a large financial firm headquartered in Melbourne, Australia. The employees' level of psychological capital were measured with the psychological capital questionnaire. Via regression, this was related to individual level financial performance data from the firm and manager rated performance.
