Although the benefits of technological innovation are widely recognised, the accounting profession continues to undervalue and inadequately leverage technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotic process automation and blockchain. This study builds on earlier work on the antecedents and barriers to technology adoption and considers the role of technological, organisational and environmental factors in the accounting context. The mixed methods design involved surveying 585 accounting managers in Australia and parts of South-East Asia and interviewing 20 Australian accounting managers. This paper investigates the effects of various types of announcements made by lithium producers on stock prices. We collected data from 40 lithium-producing companies listed on the world's largest stock exchanges, spanning from May 2020 to September 2022. To analyze the impact of announcements such as quoted and unquoted securities, market announcements, company reports, public meetings and presentations, financial announcements, and technical announcements on stock prices, we employed an extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost) model. Our results indicate that stock exchange market announcements and announcements about public meetings and presentations significantly influenced the stock prices of all eight large-cap companies studied. …

This study examines cybersecurity awareness in universities by analyzing related research output across different disciplines at the University of Johannesburg. The diffusion of innovation theory is used in this study as a theoretical framework to explain how cybersecurity awareness diffuses across disciplines. The University of Johannesburg Institutional Repository database was the data source for this study. Variations in cybersecurity keyword searches and topic modeling techniques were used to identify the frequency and distribution of research output across different disciplines. This paper explores the dynamics of luxury mobile experiences and focuses on status-seeking as a key driver of engagement. By synthesizing the luxury research and mobile commerce literature, the authors argue that fashion opinion leaders and younger consumers shown to exhibit status-seeking propensities and demonstrate high involvement with fashion and smartphones, which likely increases their adoption of luxury mobile apps. Therefore, five hypotheses were drawn from Vigneron and Johnson's (1999) prestige-seeking consumer behavior framework to develop a theoretical model and empirically test these assumptions. Containerization, the use of standardized containers to carry cargo across modes of transportation that is said to have revolutionized and globalized international trade since the late 1950s, has served to expand and extend the power of international coalitions of states and corporations to control the movements of commodities (shipments) and labor (seafarers). Prior studies on learning from failure primarily focus on how individuals learn from failure feedback given by other individuals. It is unclear whether and how the advent of machine feedback may influence individuals’ learning from failures. We suggest that failure feedback provided by machines facilitates learning in two ways. First, it focuses individuals’ attention on their failures, leading them to learn from these failures.
