New Media Technology: Oppression In The Modern World, Shauna Nefos
New Media Technology: Oppression In The Modern World, Shauna Nefos
Honors Projects and Presentations: Undergraduate
New media technology is now present everywhere in our society. This technology has a large impact on individuals with and without access to it. In the following paper, I will discuss issues of access and new media technology from history to present day. This is an effort to combine both of my majors - Sociology and Communications - into a work which could easily be expanded upon for graduate studies. By briefly reviewing the history of new media technology as well as historically outlining minority group oppression in the United States, correlations will be suggested between the development of technology …

Fallstudie L'Oréal - Vendor Managed Inventory Zwischen L’Oréal Und ”Dm Drogerie-Markt“, Enrico Senger, Hubert Oesterle
Hubert Oesterle

Manuelle Erfassungen konventioneller Angebote entfallen.

Fallstudie Röhm - Konsignationslager Zwischen Dem Degussa Geschäftsbereich Röhm Und Der Basf Coatings Ag, Enrico Senger, Hubert Oesterle
Hubert Oesterle

Assisted by a Mellon planning grant and led by principal investigator Sarah Thomas, a Cornell University project team investigated the potential of significant structural reorganization that would increase the value of the Library’s services to the University. The study revealed that the proposed benefits of restructuring are better support for scholarly creativity and communication; use of library space that privileges library users; more cost-effective allocation of resources; and the development of a new infrastructure to permit new relationships between libraries to flourish, enabling improved services at lower cost. To provide information from all the relevant stakeholders who would be affected …

American Warfare In The Twenty-First Century, Paul R. Camacho
American Warfare In The Twenty-First Century, Paul R. Camacho
New England Journal of Public Policy
Over the last several years there have been a number of calls for the development of a new theoretical doctrine to govern the force structure of the United States military. The last big change in doctrine occurred in the post-Vietnam era. It involved not simply the change to the all-volunteer force, but an abandonment of escalation brinkmanship and open-ended missions. The subsequent Powell Doctrine demanded the use of overwhelming force and clear objectives and boundaries for military intervention. As the new millennium approached, the deficiencies of the Powell Doctrine became apparent — the multilateral approach of coalition building and the …

Simulation Of Fixed– And Variable–Rate Application Of Granular Materials, John Patrick Fulton, Scott A. Shearer, Timothy S. Stombaugh, Michael E. Anderson, Thomas F. Burks, Stephen F. Higgins
Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering Faculty Publications
Research has shown that application errors exist with variable–rate technology (VRT) systems. Consequently, using prescription maps for economic and agronomic analyses can generate misleading results. The intent of this article was to develop and validate a spatial data model for generating “as–applied” maps to support the advancement of precision agriculture practices. Previous research modified ASAE Standard S341.2 to include a 2–D matrix of collection pans to assess fixed–rate and variable–rate (VR) deposition of granular fertilizers and agricultural lime from a spinner disc spreader. The “as–applied” spatial data model uses GIS functionality to generate “as–applied” surfaces by merging distribution patterns and …

The Impact Of Cultural Values On Email Acceptance : Evidence From The Prc, Linjun Huang
The Impact Of Cultural Values On Email Acceptance : Evidence From The Prc, Linjun Huang
Theses & Dissertations
Global deployment in information technology (IT) requires understandings of the cultural constraints in technology acceptance and usage behavior. Prior research indicates that the salient technology acceptance models may not be applicable to all cultures since empirical support was mainly obtained from North America. Cultural impact on user acceptance is still at the early stage of research. There has been little research done on technology acceptance and usage behavior in the context of China, which exhibits distinctive cultural differences from countries in North America. The purpose of this thesis is to test the cross-cultural applicability of Technology Acceptance Model in the …

When Does An Idea Become An Innovation? The Role Of Individual And Group Creativity In Videogame Design, Feichin, Ted Tschang
Research Collection Lee Kong Chian School Of Business
In between creativity studies of idea generation and knowledge management studies of the codification and transmission of knowledge are a fuller set of cognitive activities, including problem-solving and creative impulses. This paper examines the case of designers in the US videogame industry to develop a set of frames for determining how their ideas come about, how ideas are transformed in the process of product development, and when different models of organizing innovation are efficacious. It is found that different types of creativity are used in game design, that sometimes the individual is more influential, but that in many cases, the …

Profit Maximization In The Banking Industry: Early Adoption Of Technology And Its Effects On Efficiencies, John Gulnac
Profit Maximization In The Banking Industry: Early Adoption Of Technology And Its Effects On Efficiencies, John Gulnac
Business and Economics Honors Papers
Technological innovation has restructured the marketplace creating cost advantages in many industries. One industry that has experienced significant change is the banking industry. The widespread applications of Information Technology (IT) complemented with the adoptions of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) have changed the face of the banking industry: by providing banks with the opportunity to improve certain operational efficiencies IT is giving them a competitive advantage in a consolidating industry. Brick and mortar banks are no longer an operational necessity. The banking industry through recent deregulations now has the ability to enter new and previously untapped markets with relatively low entry …
