Women across the nation face barriers that include a pay gap, under representation, caregiving expectations, threats of sexual violence, and more. Barriers related to the workplace are significant due to their impact on a woman’s autonomy, particularly in Arkansas. The Women’s Business Leadership Center on the Arkansas State University campus provided an excellent opportunity to investigate the life experiences of women in Arkansas who recognize barriers to women and confront them. Eleven mentors of the WBLC at ASU were interviewed to document such life experiences. Bank deposit fees have been at the forefront of bank criticism for years, as many view them as being too severe and having a disproportionate effect on low-income customers. In recent years, there has been a strong push for declines in these rates. In this paper, I analyze banks willingness to decrease deposit fees using data from bank call reports over the 2017 to 2023 time period. Through statistical analysis, I find that various factors such as 2017 deposit fee level, ROA, total assets, average personal deposits, population, median income, and poverty rates are significant in determining bank fee levels …

Large-scale adverse events such as natural disasters and pandemics interrupt business services, initiating defining moments for organizations. The trend of people exiting the workforce compels organizations to examine turnover risk and search for factors that mitigate the impact of resignations. In response to the increase in voluntary turnover and retirements during the COVID-19 pandemic, this study examines four elements that have impacted the workplace since 2020–turnover intent, job embeddedness, psychological safety, and inclusive leadership.

This dissertation is based on applied research that examines the United States Navy’s current innovation ecosystem, aiming to identify challenges, barriers, and viable solutions. The assessment involved a qualitative study as well as a quantitative study, encompassing respondents from various Navy organizations. Results of the qualitative interviews (study 1) were used to reveal patterns, concepts, and theoretical insights that informed the design of the quantitative survey (study 2). The research revealed significant process gaps, including communication breakdowns across organizations and a critical deficiency in knowledge management. This dissertation examines how ESG scores impact the financial performance of acquiring firms in the post-M&A phase. Anchored in the frameworks of Agency Theory and Signaling Theory, this study develops three hypotheses to assess the influence of ESG scores on post-M&A performance. The empirical investigation utilizes a dataset of over 5,000 M&A observations, applying the Arellano–Bond dynamic panel-data estimation technique. This approach provides compelling statistical evidence on the ramifications of ESG scores on the performance of acquiring firms in the post-M&A period.
