Take Action To Address Virginia’S Dental Workforce Needs, Ryan Dunn

Virginia Dental Journal

This article lays out the facts about the dental workforce situation in Virginia and offers potential solutions. The state's dental workforce is under pressure, with rising demand for dental assistants and hygienists and ongoing hiring challenges exacerbated by the pandemic. Despite having more dentists than the national average, rural areas still face shortages. The Virginia Dental Association (VDA) encourages members to support local dental programs, share their workforce challenges, and participate in advocacy efforts. The VDA is actively involved in finding both short-term and long-term solutions to meet the state's dental care needs.

The Effect Of Financial Disclosure Medium And Ceo Gender On Perceptions Of Overconfidence And Credibility, Sheryl Moriarty

I experimentally examine how investors react to an unexpected negative earnings announcement delivered using video versus audio by an overconfident female CEO versus an overconfident male CEO. The results show that the CEO's gender does not matter in terms of the delivery medium. I predict and did not find that CEO overconfidence is lower for a financial disclosure delivered by video as opposed to audio only. Further, the hypothesis that the perception of female CEO overconfidence is higher versus male CEO overconfidence was not supported. The expatriate international assignment, a time-tested tool for global organizations, is known to be expensive and fraught with risks; defining its value has proven difficult for multinational firms in the twentieth century that internationalized using multi-stage theory. Recently, born-global internationalization theory has gained momentum among emerging firms, notably technology-based firms employing expatriate assignments. This study asks, how do born-global firms define value or benefit when determining return on investment (ROI) for expatriate international assignments? Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has garnered significant attention. Understanding the mechanisms through which stakeholders interpret a firm’s CSR efforts and the boundary conditions that affect the relationship between CSR and its outcomes can help companies optimize resource allocation to CSR activities. This research explores the link between CSR and financial performance, highlighting the mediating role of reputation and the moderating effects of different CSR engagement patterns. This study aimed to understand the similarities and differences among servant leadership measures and the variations in their effect sizes on job performance and job satisfaction. This paper explores how the items in servant leadership measures portrayed the servant leadership construct and how these relate to the outcomes. The researcher used an exploratory sequential mixed methods design. Which involved a qualitative content analysis of the measurement items and a meta-analysis of outcomes, considering the findings from the content analysis. Workplace loneliness is a topic of growing interest among scholars and practitioners, in part because of the known impacts of loneliness on individuals’ well-being and performance. Recent literature has suggested that senior leaders may be vulnerable to feelings of workplace loneliness but lacks a thorough depiction of how leaders experience and cope with the feelings. This qualitative study explores the lived experiences and perspectives of senior leaders through interviews with 26 leaders and seven close confidants who provide a nuanced understanding of how senior leaders experience workplace loneliness and offer insight on mitigating these feelings. This study reviews and critiques these three main components as attempts are made to achieve sustainable business development. The results allow decision-makers to identify issues that need to be considered when making decisions regarding environmental, economic, and human resources. Recent environmental incidents and disasters have intensified awareness and concerns about environmental issues, making the reduction of the private sector’s environmental impact a pressing necessity. The path to better environmental performance depends on enhancing environmental disclosure. While an increasing number of firms are embracing environmental disclosure, and legislative efforts are steering towards mandating such disclosures, the comprehensive understanding of the environmental implications of these disclosures remains surprisingly limited. Employee creativity is widely recognized as a pivotal factor for organizational innovation. Despite the known benefits of cultural intelligence (CQ) in enhancing task performance in intercultural environments, little research has examined the relationship between individual CQ and creativity. Drawing from the interactionist perspective, where creativity arises from the dynamic interaction between individuals and their environments, this research explores how individual CQ dimensions (metacognitive and motivational) enhance creativity through social interactions and cultural environments in multinational corporations (MNCs). Gender and leadership research has traditionally employed a binary framework, overlooking the experiences of transgender and gender non-conforming (TGNC) leaders and forcing leaders of all genders and intersectional identities into a dichotomous frame. This paper reviewed interdisciplinary literature using a robust search strategy in three academic databases and Google Scholar, as well as across eight leadership studies journals. This study aims to assess family doctors' perceived needs for improved patient follow-up post-acute treatment in oncology departments, specifically focusing on the Patient Oriented Discharge Summary (PODS) for individuals living with cancer. A cross-sectional quantitative survey targeted family doctors, and a before/after exploratory study was conducted with patients to measure their needs pre- and post-PODS implementation. Twenty-one out of 42 family doctors participated in the survey (50%). Surgeons are the de facto leaders of surgical teams with surgical physician associates (SPAs) as integral members who function in all areas of the peri-operative environment. Surgeons often supervise SPAs. Ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) provide patients with same-day diagnostic and preventive procedures as more convenient alternatives to hospital-based outpatient procedures. This qualitative, national, and cross-sectional study explored the perceived impact of surgeons' burnout on SPAs' wellness in U.S. ASCs during global health crises. Research has shown a consistent positive association between patient and provider experience and improved patient outcomes and safety. There is a belief that patient satisfaction and physician productivity are competing interests. The relationship for primary care physicians, in a Midwest Health system was evaluated as part of this project. Data from Press Ganey patient satisfaction surveys on likelihood of recommending the practice and the physician were compared between primary care physicians in the top quartile of average monthly patient visits and those that were in the three lower quartiles. Research suggests that insights from patient narratives – stories about care experiences in patients' own words – contain information that can be used to improve care. However, assessments of narratives reported by clinical personnel have been mixed. This is the first study, to our knowledge, to systematically measure how useful personnel in primary care perceive patient narratives to be. We surveyed 276 clinical and administrative personnel in nine primary care clinics in a large health system in the United States.
