Nelson Slade Bond had a varied writing career that spanned 70 years. Primarily known for science fiction short stories, Bond also wrote plays, radio and television scripts, newspaper and magazine articles, poetry, public relations material, and books. The collection reflects the author's professional and personal lives consisting of writings, correspondence, business papers and financial records from 1925 to 2005. The collection was donated in four installments during and after Bond’s life from April 2006 to September 2007. Haunted by the spirits of the avant-garde, the work of Rodrigo García embraces a hybrid theatrical language that is at once profoundly rooted in the aesthetic tendencies of performance, installation art, and text-based drama. García, a playwright, director, designer, and video and installation artist of Spanish nationality, was born in Buenos Aires in 1964. Since the mid-1980s, he has lived in Madrid, a city that has served as a laboratory for his company La Carnicería, which he founded in 1989. At the end of Suite (1999), an award-winning play by Catalan dramatist Carles Batlle i Jordà, there is a memorable scene in which the spectators observe the collapse of a doll house upon the living room floor. Letters to John Lennon is a two-act play about one woman's fantasies, nightmares, and memories that expose her desperate need to feel worthy of love. On the 20^th anniversary of John Lennon's death, Kay plans to go public with her identity as Lennon's illegitimate daughter. She believes this will result in her sudden rise to fame, a new peace movement, and the consummation of her love with a rock star.
