บทบาทนางโชว์ในโรงละครคาบาเรต์, วิชัย สวัสดิ์จีน

งานวิจัยฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาสถานภาพชายผู้เป็นนางโชว์ และ ความสำคัญของ นางโชว์ที่มีต่อการแสดงคาบาเรต์ ในโรงละคร เป็นงานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ ประกอบด้วยการค้นคว้า เอกสาร การลงพื้นที่เพื่อเก็บข้อมูล โดยเน้นศึกษานางโชว์ในโรงละครคาบาเรต์ ของเมืองพัทยา ได้แก่ บริษัท ทิฟฟานี่โชว์ พัทยา จำกัด บริษัทอัลคาซาร์ จํากัด และ บริษัทโคลอสเซี่ยมโชว์ พัทยา จำกัด โดยการสัมภาษณ์ และการสังเกตการณ์ และการตรวจสอบข้อมูลด้วยการจัดสัมมนากลุ่ม และนำเสนอข้อมูลด้วยการพรรณนาวิเคราะห์ ตามวัตถุประสงค์ในการวิจัย ผลการวิจัยพบว่า การแต่งกายข้ามเพศของบุคคลเพศชายในนาฏกรรม เป็นปรากฏการณ์ ที่เกิดขึ้นทั่วโลก ทั้งในประเทศแถบตะวันตก เอเชีย เอเชียตะวันออกฉียงใต้ และในประเทศไทย จนกระทั่งเกิดเป็นอาชีพนางโชว์ในโรงละครคาบาเรต์ โดยระยะเริ่มแรกเกิดขึ้นประมาณพ.ศ. 2515-2520 และพัฒนามาถึงปัจจุบัน ส่วนเส้นทางของการเข้าสู่อาชีพนางโชว์ แบ่งออกเป็น 2 ช่วง ช่วงแรกเริ่มตั้งแต่ช่วงวัยรุ่น (12-18 ปี) เป็นการเรียนรู้ทักษะด้านการแสดง และการเปลี่ยนแปลงร่างกายด้วยฮอร์โมนเพศหญิง ผ่านสังคมโรงเรียน และกลุ่มกะเทยในชุมชน จากนั้นเมื่อเข้าสู่อาชีพนางโชว์สามารถแบ่งสถานภาพของนางโชว์ออก เป็น 5 ระดับ เริ่มตั้งแต่งนางโชว์ทดลองงาน นางโชว์พนักงานประจำ นางโชว์ลูกคู่พิเศษ นางโชว์ตัวร้อง และนางโชว์ดาวเด่น ความสำคัญของนางโชว์แบ่งออกเป็น 4 ส่วน ได้แก่ 1) การสร้างอาชีพและรายได้ภายในองค์กร 2) การกระจายรายได้สู่ชุมชนเมืองพัทยา 3) การสร้างรายได้และผลประโยชน์ต่อธุรกิจที่เกี่ยข้อง 4) การเป็นภาพลักษณ์ในอุตสาหกรรมการท่องเที่ยวเมืองพัทยา จังหวัดชลบุรี และประเทศไทย อีกทั้งเป็นอีกหนึ่งกระบอกเสียงที่แสดงให้เห็นถึงศักยภาพของบุคคลในกลุ่ม ความหลากหลายทางเพศ เพื่อการเป็นที่ยอมรับของสังคมในวงกว้าง นางโชว์ระดับดาวเด่นเปรียบเสมือนนางพญาผึ้ง โรงละครเปรียบดั่งรังผึ้ง องค์ประกอบต่าง ๆ ในการแสดงคือผึ้งงานที่ร่วมกันทำงานผสานกับนางพญาผึ้ง การที่นางโชว์จะเป็นศูนย์กลางเชื่อมโยง ทุกอย่างเข้าด้วยกัน จำเป็นต้องใช้หลักการเจริญปัญญา สมาธิ เพื่อพัฒนาทักษะด้านการแสดงให้เหนือกว่านางโชว์ทั้งปวงของโรงละคร เพื่อให้เกิดอานุภาพผ่านการแสดงในโรงละครคาบาเรต์ ซึ่งเมืองพัทยาประกอบโรงละครคาบาเรต์ 3 แห่ง ที่มีความหลากหลายของรูปแบบการแสดง เปรียบดั่งรสชาติของน้ำผึ้งแต่ละรังที่แตกต่างกันไป แต่พันธกิจหลักของโรงละครคาบาเรต์มีความสำคัญในการขับเคลื่อนระบบอุตสาหกรรมการท่องเที่ยว เปรียบดั่งรังผึ้งที่มีส่วนสำคัญในการสร้างความบริบูรณ์ให้เกิดในวัฏจักรทางธรรมชาติ

RTA is a non profit organization based out of New York that uses the arts as a way to rehabilitate inmates. Research shows that this type of rehabilitation strongly impacts an inmates behavior, self esteem and possibly reduces their likelihood to return to prison. This is one man’s story on how practicing theater during his prison sentence changed his life.

Can daily practice in flamenco training help mediate the effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) on the brain and body? This thesis focuses on the inner-workings of the brain and how it processes stress and trauma. This is discussed through the idea of the Fear Circuit, which is a habitual response to reminders of the original trauma; the review of a current therapy for PTSD patients-Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR); the theory that throwing (skill in speed and precision –based throwing activities), music, and dance can all work to increase strength in areas of the brain that atrophy …

Mr. Zero is the eternal "little man," shallow yet possessing some dignity, who murders his boss when he learns that, after twenty-five years of being a bookkeeper, he is to be replaced by an adding machine. Condemned to death despite his piteous stream-of-consciousness appeal to the jury, he is executed and appears next in the Elysian Fields, where he meets and enjoys a brief idyll with Daisy, his deceased co-worker, whose love he had secretly desired.

Many pre-professional dance studios have become consumer driven in response to the growing economic practice of neoliberalism. Neoliberal values have become more prominent in today’s economy and inevitably seeped into the lives of dancers and instructors, creating consumer based pre-professional training schools. This paper argues that the current neoliberal state of the United States is negatively affecting dance education by reducing specialized and therapeutic training and as a result numbing the creative mind and the artist’s entrepreneurial abilities. This idea has been addressed at a collegiate level yet the lack of standards for dance instruction at the studio level has been overlooked. This research project aims to analyze the contemporary ways in which the Dance of Scissors is practiced and reproduced to determine if its continuity outside the place of origin, with all the modifications that it has experienced, can be considered a form of cultural resistance. Resistance in this context is addressed in two specific ways: as a dynamic continuity of Andean indigenous identity and as a tool of cultural vindication. This work is the first in-depth study of the work of avant-garde Japanese dancer/choreographer Tanaka Min, and focuses on his extensive innovations in the fields of improvised dance, training, and choreographic method. These interrelated aspects of his experimental practice are intimately concerned with the relation between space and the body, employ collaborative methods, and are strongly influenced by the life and work of Hijikata Tatsumi (widely to considered to be the founder of the butô movement). In the 1960s, the initial decade of the Cuban Revolution, policies of proletarianization of culture intersected an economic model built upon the heroic labor of the New Man—the ideal revolutionary and communist worker. Adapting the practice of ballet to this Marxist context, ballet dancers took their art to the working classes through popular performances and outreach events in farms and factories. Given the centrality of manual work to the revolution's ideology, dancers drew upon their own physical labor both in ballet and agriculture to establish an even stronger association with the working classes and embody the New Man's morality. The University of Houston Libraries sponsored an interdisciplinary event for students, faculty, and the public, titled the Artists’ Health and Wellness Colloquium and Resource Fair. Aspiring and working artists were instructed in how to maintain good health and to avoid overstressing their bodies as they practice their art. Scholars presented both historical and trending perspectives on the intersection of art and health science.
