Spiritual Empowerment Of Special Needs Families, Andrew Leon Meeko
Spiritual Empowerment Of Special Needs Families, Andrew Leon Meeko
Doctor of Ministry
Families with children possessing disability face crushing challenges physically, economically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Sadly, most succumb to this onslaught and disintegrate. The tragedy of these families is only amplified in that they have the potential to influence lives, churches, and nations as perhaps no other entity can.
Chapter One focuses on understanding the tragedy of special needs families. The dehumanizing attitudes and denials of basic rights that handicap those with disability are examined. Chapter Two takes a closer look at the stresses and emotional whirlpools these families endure. Stress hardiness and cohesion/control mechanisms of families are also considered in …

Using Assessments In Facilitating The Assimilation Of Adults At Calvary Church In Grand Rapids, Michigan, David D. Nemitz
Faculty Dissertations
The goal of assimilating believers into the community of faith has been, is and will continue to be a crucial element and a significant challenge for churches. Most commonly, assimilation is used to describe the process by which people are absorbed into the cultural tradition of an existing population or organization. This thesis explores the impact that a standardized assimilation process has on the incorporation of people into the community of a large church setting.

Introduction To A Scripture Index To Charlesworth's Old Testament Pseudepigrapha, Steve Delamarter
Introduction To A Scripture Index To Charlesworth's Old Testament Pseudepigrapha, Steve Delamarter
Faculty Publications - Portland Seminary
Though some ancient lists note over 60 titles of apocryphal and pseudepigraphal works, by the early twentieth century R.H. Charles was able to offer only 17 such works for publication in volume 2 of his The Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha of the Old Testament (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1913) and two of these, Pirke A both and The Fragments of a Zadokite Work, clearly belong within the rabbinic corpus and the Dead Sea Scrolls respectively. Charlesworth includes 65 texts, many for the first time in English. 1 The net result is that the Charlesworth edition of the Old Testament Pseudepigrapha contains far …

'Impregn'd With Reason': Eve's Aural Conception In Paradise Lost, Kent Lehnhof
'Impregn'd With Reason': Eve's Aural Conception In Paradise Lost, Kent Lehnhof
English Faculty Articles and Research
"Milton utilizes in his own writings this tradition of auricular conception. Throughout Paradise Lost, Milton patterns Eve's Temptation after Mary's Annunciation, presenting the Temptation in terms of oral insemination and aural impregnation. Milton's account of the Fall in this way indicates that Eve and the Temptation are typological precursors to Mary and the Annunciation."

Echoes And Evidences Of The Book Of Mormon, Donald W. Parry, Daniel C. Peterson, John W. Welch
Echoes And Evidences Of The Book Of Mormon, Donald W. Parry, Daniel C. Peterson, John W. Welch
Maxwell Institute Publications
The amazing achievements of the last hundred years in technology and science are paralleled by significant strides in Book of Mormon studies. Echoes and Evidences of the Book of Mormon takes inventory of some of the most fascinating ancient elements of the Book of Mormon.
For many years now, Latter-day Saint scholars have called attention to significant parallels in the Book of Mormon with the ancient world that in many cases were unknowable in the world of Joseph Smith. The sheer number of these “bull’s-eyes” alone is impressive.
In this volume, scholars trained in biblical studies, archaeology, classics, history, law, …

Robert Espinosa reviews his team’s painstaking work of preserving and identifying remaining fragments of the original manuscript. Ron Romig narrates the investigation into the printer’s manuscript, and Larry Draper explains how the press sheets for the 1830 edition reveal overlooked details of the printing process. In …
