The Promethean
This issue of the Promethean marks several changes in the journal's look and mission. In keeping with the convention of many literary journals, we have moved to a half-page format and standardized our layout so that the focus is on the written words our contributors have shared. The decision to feature artwork only on the cover was difficult, and we hope that our planned website will provide students with an opportunity to share their talents on-line. We are also featuring, in this issue and in forthcoming fall/winter issues, the winners of our themed essay contest. This fall the contest asked …

Nexus Literary Journal
Nexus is a magazine that began as an insert in the Wright State Guardian student newspaper in 1965 and has since been published semi-regularly. It began only accepting creative writing, but has since expanded to include illustrations, photography and other non-written art forms. Today, it is published in a digital format and accepts submissions from around the country, though it maintains its commitment to the Wright State Community.

Dissertations and Theses
Luminous Days is a representation of my artistic vision, literary goals, and social influences. Artistically, I intend to create fiction that is aesthetically appealing. This aesthetic appeal includes the presence of a distinct narrative voice, realistically rendered settings, multidimensional characters, meticulous attention to diction, and sentence construction. The literary goal I hold in the highest regard is the creation of a body of work that demonstrates continued growth in my craft.
What I intend to render in my thesis is an accurate portrayal of the effects that drugs on the lives of my characters, and more specifically the relational strains …
