The present article is Chapters 14 and 15 of the book. In these two chapters, Althusser outlined psychoanalytical practice and showed its difficulties. He also discussed the influences that the psychoanalytical practice had on the practice and theory of arts. Chen Wenshu's (1771-1843) "On Parallel Prose Written in the Lamplight for Zhihui" is the only long poem discussing the genre of parallel prose and it has both theoretical and practical significance. The poem not only investigates the history of parallel prose but also examines various aspects of parallel prose in an effort to promote the genre for serious writers, and it greatly helps to enrich the theoretical resource on parallel prose. Chen's survey of the history and examinations of the practice of parallel prose are characteristic of the textual criticism prevailing in the Qianlong-Jiaqing Reign.

This essay approaches Marshall McLuhan's media investigations in relation to his solid humanistic background. In the late 1930s, his doctoral studies at Cambridge University, UK, introduced him to the liberal arts of the trivium, while alerting him on the achievements of the most daring avant-garde movements of the inter-war period. This project demonstrates materials developed over a three-year period in Chinese international schools for the teaching of U.S. history to ESL learners. It includes an outline for a two-year curriculum with a regular weekly cycle, as well as a close look at strategies and tested activities intended to facilitate understanding of this complex topic and to encourage students to participate beyond passive reception. Specific cultural issues of teaching U.S. history in China are discussed, including issues of ideology and censorship.

This paper examines the creation of Daoism in its earliest, pre-Eastern Han period. After an examination of the critical terms "scholar/master" and "author/ school", I argue that, given the paucity of evidence, Sima Tan and Liu Xin should be credited with creating this tradition. The body of this article considers the definitions of Daoism given by these two scholars and all of the extant texts that Liu Xin classified as "Daoist." Based on these texts, I then suggest an amended definition of Daoism. In the conclusion, I address the recent claim that the daojia /daijiao dichotomy is false, speculating that …

This project focuses on how the household saving ratio changes from 1978-2013 in China and what factors caused the changes. Based China’s household saving rate changes from 1953-2000 by using the framework of the life-cycle hypothesis, Modigliani concluded that the rate of growth income and the demographic structure are the major determinant of the rate of private saving. This project attempts to extend Modigliani’s research using the data after 2000 and take changes of Chinese policy and additional factors into consideration. 本文考察清代笑話集《笑林廣記》中的僧人笑話，發現專講僧人的「僧道部」中色 情笑話的比例竟只僅次於專論夫婦行房笑話的「閏風部」。本文將僧人笑話分為兩大層 次，第一層是僧人整體的，同時較空泛的負面形象；第二層再細分為內外兩層，先進入 笑話嘲笑僧人的具體內容；再來是數量最多，也是所選笑話中的核心部分：以大量色情笑話，攻擊僧人觸犯淫戒。本文嘗試從兩方面分析僧人的色情笑話。一，從巴赫金（Mikhail Mikhailovich Bakhtin）對「狂歡」的理論來解釋，僧人所守的戒律與性分別象徵極端的高尚與極端的低下，色情笑話將高低兩者的地位拉向一致，達至「狂歡」的效果；二，從晚明至清代的社會狀況來與笑話作對照，當中包括時期相若的文學、法律等，以觀照笑話這種為求惹人發笑，必有其誇大之處的文體究竟是否毫無社會價值。

對於屈原作品中的意象分析，不少學者均只局限於討論王逸《楚辭章句》中所提到的。屈原的作品中，常出現有關「道」和「路」的描述，姜亮夫《楚辭通故》：「道與路兩字為考見屈子思想之重要用詞。」然而，在著作或論文方面，均未有深入討論「道路」意象的象徵意義及其重要性。

本文以〈離騷〉、〈九歌〉、〈天問〉、〈九章〉、〈遠遊〉、〈卜居〉和〈漁父〉為研究範圍，當中的「道」和「路」共出現四十七次。從「道路」意象去分析屈原的作品，可見屈原所賦予的意義是較其他意象為多，並非如美人象徵君主般單一。「道路」並非單指現實中、眼前所見的路，屈原是把對現實的不滿與理想寄託於「道路」之中，包括望君主明察、望奸佞盡去和望重歸郢都，這些都是屈原對現實的不滿和批評。

在現實與理想的矛盾之間，屈原依然始終如一，堅守其正道，不會因應現實而有絲毫的改變，就如先秦時期道家所言的「道」一樣，本質是獨立不變的。因此，從「道」和「路」意象分析屈原作品，更可了解屈原貫串全文之不變決心及其忠君愛國精神。

張系國、倪匡科幻小說寫作特色比較 : 以《星雲組曲》及〈衛斯理系列〉為例, Cheuk Sum Wan

張系國（1944年）與倪匡（1935-）同生於中國大陸，前者1949年後遷台再到美國，後者在1957年後來到香港發展。然而，二人同因科幻小說而為人熟悉，其中《星雲組曲》、〈衛斯理系列〉為他們的代表作。於中、港、台的影響力至今仍不減。

有見及此，本文會以《星雲組曲》〈衛斯理系列〉為研究對象，嘗試以科幻觀、主題、叙事與讀者群為方向，比較兩者的特點，以及分析這些特點出現及為何受到推崇的原因。

統觀而言，張系國視科幻小說為嚴肅文學，會依從基本的科學精神設出相對仔細的世界觀，為的是幫助表達人文的主題，讀者以知識份子為主；倪匡則視科幻小說為消閒文學，在作品中加入武俠、偵探等元素，科幻元素變成故事中的「謎底」或「危機」，以增加閱讀趣味，甚至認為不必依從基本的科學概念。而這些不同，基本上與二人的背景以及「雅、俗」文學取向相關。

同時，張、倪的作品雖然雅俗取向不同，但同屬科幻小說。這種包容性也反映了科幻文體有別於其他如言情、武俠等文類。

兩岸的桃花源記 : 論蔣曉雲《桃花井》中的想像與失落, Ka Lo Lau

蔣曉雲與吳念真、朱天心、張大春等人同期出道，二十多歲時曾經在台灣文壇中嶄露頭角。當年朱西甯讀過她的作品後，因她文字中的那份只屬於中文的美感，以及張愛玲散文裡的幽默與詼諧，令朱氏肯定她為「張愛玲、潘人木之後，『無人可及』的言情小說家」，夏志清亦稱她為「另一張愛玲」。

儘管蔣曉雲事後已否定自己的作品有模仿或繼承張愛玲，這種說法卻足以看到文學界對她的肯定。可惜的是，1980年，正當蔣曉雲聲名鵲起之際，她卻毅然放棄自己在文壇上的名氣和地位，到美國留學，及後在當地工作、結婚、生子。

2011年，暌違文壇三十年的蔣曉雲帶著作品《桃花井》 回歸，除了是因為反對自己寫作的父母的逝去及作為她最忠實讀者的侄女的鼎力支持外，更有其歷史及個人原因。蔣曉雲的歸來，不再像過去的作品《隨緣》、《姻緣路》般冷眼旁觀現代適婚男女的錙銖必較，亦無意再度破譯才子佳人傳奇，而是把目光放置於糾纏近半世紀的兩岸關係，嘗試在二十一世紀重新觀照上世紀那些歷史洪流中的「老靈魂」的生平和處境，並從「外省」小人物的身世開始推演一齣兩岸共同架設的荒謬殘酷的家庭劇場。

以下，本論文將會以《桃花井》為中心，分析當代台灣返鄉文學中，外省人所面對的難題與原因，和外省第二代在歷史問題下如何自處，以及在原鄉失落的情況下，這些外省族群對於烏托邦的想像與失落。

「宀」這個部首，我們從小至大都會寫過，看似熟悉，但是每當談及它的讀音和意義，大多數人也會出現啞口無言，無言以對的反應，只知道稱之為「寶蓋頭」。自古迄今，从「宀」的字，可謂數以百計。《說文》「宀」部，收錄合共71個从「宀」的字，當中有很多更是鮮見於現代，甚至已經不再使用。本文遂以《說文》「宀」部作為研究基礎，對《說文》「宀」部字進行收錄考證及同義詞考析兩個方面的研究，以進一步暸解「宀」與从「宀」的字。

This article investigates that relationship between e’gao (parody using web-based media) and Chinese civil participation. E’gao (恶搞 EUH-gow) uses videos, images, and text based campaigns that use humor to remove fear of political commentary and action. By detailing the development of China’s internet use, and the creation of the e’gao movement, I argue that e’gao removes the fear of participating in campaigns and movements, which criticize government policy and actions on both local and state levels, by using humor and anonymity of large online numbers. While rural-urban migrations are reshaping societies worldwide, the migrants who make up a great portion of urban China's low-wage labor force and burgeoning population face unique legal and social challenges. 阮大鋮是明代著名的戲曲作家，著有《春燈謎》、《燕子箋》、《雙金榜》、《牟尼合》等傳奇戲曲，極富才華。然而，明朝和明季的史書裏，阮大鋮品格卑劣；除此之外，一些文學家亦大力渲染阮大鋮負面形象。因此本文欲分析史書與文學如何建構阮大鋮的形象。

本論文分作五部份︰第一為引言。第二則以《明史》、《石匱書后集》、《小腆紀傳》及《所知錄》四部史書的作者生平、筆法分析阮大鋮的歷史原型。第三部份則細讀《樵史通俗演義》、《桃花扇》、《姑妄言》、〈阮大鋮祭文〉四部文學作品，並從作者生平、寫作意圖方式探究阮大鋮的文學形象。第四部份會比較歷史原型與文學形象之異同，及研究其關係，並了解兩者之間如何互相影響，建構出阮大鋮於社會形象。第五部份為結語。
