Contexts Of Transformation And Integration In Palestinian Media Institutions In The Digital Age, Osama Abdallah, Ahmad Hamouda
An-Najah University Journal for Research - B (Humanities)
In this study, we sought to provide an accurate and detailed diagnosis of the transformations witnessed by Palestinian media institutions in light of the new environment of communication, and to know how Palestinian media institutions can establish a new communication model within their organizational structures in line with the new environment of communication in the digital age. Crafting The Image Of Pelayo: Identity And State-Building In Early Medieval Asturian Chronicles, Erica Buchberger
Crafting The Image Of Pelayo: Identity And State-Building In Early Medieval Asturian Chronicles, Erica Buchberger
History Faculty Publications
In the late ninth century, a series of chronicles from the Christian kingdom of Asturias staked a claim on Visigothic identity, and thus ancestral legitimacy to rule in Iberia, for Asturias and its kings. Connecting Pelayo, the first king of the Asturian kingdom, to the last Visigothic kings and crafting his image as an ideal Goth and Christian was essential to this process. Informed by scholarship on “borderlands” and boundary-making, this article demonstrates how the chroniclers renegotiated the parameters of Gothic identity to impose the idea of a strict border between legitimate and illegitimate, good Catholic and heretic, and loyalty …
Mirabai: The Making Of A Saint, Nancy M. Martin
Mirabai: The Making Of A Saint, Nancy M. Martin
Religious Studies Faculty Books and Book Chapters
This book traces the narrative genealogy of the immensely popular Indian saint Mirabai from the earliest manuscript references to her through colonial and nationalist formations to scholarly and popular portrayals in the decades leading up to Indian independence. This iconic sixteenth-century woman is renowned for her unwavering love of God, her disregard for social hierarchies and gendered notions of honor and shame, and her challenge thereby to familial, feudal, and religious authorities. Though verifiable historical facts regarding her life are few, stories about her have multiplied across social, linguistic, regional, and religious boundaries. With attention to who is telling which …

Interiority
The idea of a situated interior reflects the conceptual understanding of an expanded range of interiority from the self to the outside world; it involves traversing rigid boundaries to allow fluidity and continuity. The situated interior considers the critical role of other things in defining the interior practice, from the practice of inhabitation and the practice of making and designing to the dynamic formation of the discipline. The collection of articles in this issue of Interiority demonstrates the numerous ways particular situations define the practice of design, inhabitation, and the discipline of the interior. The narratives of various situations presented …
