Beyond Personality: Recollections Of C.S. Lewis, Grayson Carter
Beyond Personality: Recollections Of C.S. Lewis, Grayson Carter
Sehnsucht: The C. S. Lewis Journal
On December 14, 1988 Beyond Personality: Recollections of C. S. Lewis was broadcast in Britain over BBC Radio Four. Unlike many other works of reminiscences of C. S. Lewis, the comments that appear therein are not always complimentary (or uncritical) of their subject. In part, this reflects Lewis’ somewhat mixed reputation in England, where academic theologians often remain skeptical of his attempts to communicate religious truth and where literary critics often view his opinions on poetry and literature as anachronistic. In part, this may also reflect the nature of a radio program such as this, in which lengthy commentary is …
C.S. Lewis: Literary Criticism And Critical Theory A Primary And Secondary Bibliography, James P. Helfers
C.S. Lewis: Literary Criticism And Critical Theory A Primary And Secondary Bibliography, James P. Helfers
Sehnsucht: The C. S. Lewis Journal
Excerpt: "A major problem with compiling a focused bibliography of texts related to C. S. Lewis’ work as a literary critic and critical theorist is that critical theory as a concept is a relatively recent invention. One can think of critical theory as the explicit consideration of the ontological and epistemological status of objects of literary study, and as the philosophical consideration of various aspects of the interpretation of texts (hermeneutics). Although a number of philosophical writings since the Greek Classical Period have significance for critical theory, the idea that an interpretive approach to texts can be considered philosophically probably …
Toward A Narnian Valuation Of Nature: Participatory Ontology, Jeff Sellars
Toward A Narnian Valuation Of Nature: Participatory Ontology, Jeff Sellars
Sehnsucht: The C. S. Lewis Journal
Lewis’ appreciation of nature begs the question: from where does the natural world gain its purpose and meaning? Lewis’ valuation of nature can be understood perhaps best through participatory ontology: the immanent world is valued and saved only through the participation of the divine; the lower life is brought up into the higher life. This view can be seen very openly and unmistakably throughout The Chronicles of Narnia, where the natural Narnian world of plants, animals, trees, and creatures of all kinds are celebrated, and some are eventually included in the New Narnia.
Diversity In Times Of Adversity: Sounding A Horn In Narnia, D. G. Kehl
Diversity In Times Of Adversity: Sounding A Horn In Narnia, D. G. Kehl
Sehnsucht: The C. S. Lewis Journal
Why, one might ask, does Lewis go to such great lengths to specify twelve different varieties of animals—“all you variety of creatures”—if not to stress diversity? In Letters to Malcolm Lewis wrote: “If grace perfects nature it must expand all our natures into the full richness of the diversity which God intended when He made them.”

Visualizing The Spread Of Western Music Throughout The World Using Big Data, Dakota C. Cookenmaster
Visualizing The Spread Of Western Music Throughout The World Using Big Data, Dakota C. Cookenmaster
Campus Research Month
Music, perhaps the most prevailing form of art throughout the ages, has impacted the world in countless ways. Due to the vast magnitude of published musical compositions, it is difficult to comprehend the full extent of how Western music has spread from Europe to the rest of the world. Our contribution is a presentation of the history of music throughout the ages, highlighting the countries of publication by year since the 15th century. Our visualization also exhibits the top 10 most prevalent composers within the British Library, with additional information such as the composers’ number of works and lifespan.

Epsilon Sigma at-Large Research Conference
Evidence Based Health Promotion Scientific Abstract
Introduction & Background:
Mental Health resources are scarce in rural areas. In 2020, suicide was the third leading cause of death for African Americans ages 15 to 24; this is only one example of the mental health disparities experienced by minority groups.
Purpose Statement and Research Question:
We saught to answer: “Are there greater mental health disparities among sexual and ethnic minorities, such as LGBTQ+ groups or Middle Eastern women, compared to their heterosexual, majority counterparts; if so, is there anything we can do about the issue as nurses?”
