Spelling Errors In Children With Autism, Khalyn I. Wiggins
Spelling Errors In Children With Autism, Khalyn I. Wiggins
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
The goal of this study was to examine the spelling errors of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) when asked to spell morphologically complex words. Specifically, this study sought to determine if percent accuracy across morphological areas would be similar to patterns noted in typical developing children, correlate with participant age, and correlate to performance on standardized measures of achievement. Additionally, the study wanted to highlight the types of errors made by children with ASD on homonyms and the specific linguistic patterns noted when spelling derivational and inflectional word types.
Participants included 29 children diagnosed with Autism, PDD-NOS, and Asperger’s …
Leland F. Prince's Earth Divers, Leland Fred Prince
Leland F. Prince's Earth Divers, Leland Fred Prince
Theses and Dissertations
My stoneware sculptures in my MFA final project were named Earth Divers because clay as a material is earth and clay is also symbolic of the Earth. The way that I physically dive into clay up to my elbows is a poetic performance. The sculptures were built in sections horizontally and then stacked vertically. I began the process by first making life size plaster molds of the human figure taken from live people. Earth Divers take their architectural structure specifically from the organic curves of the negative voids that are characteristic of the plaster figure molds. I built into these …

Family Affairs Newsletter 2010-03-15, Zack Paakkonen
Family Affairs newsletter (2004-2016)
FAMILY AFFAIRS was a free, twice-a-month, social activities newsletter for the GLBTQI (gay/lesbian/bisexual/trans/queer/intersex) community, sent out around the 1st and 15th of each month. It covered the State of Maine only. The list was begun and maintained for many years by Jean Vermette in Bangor, and later operated by Zack Paakkonen of Portland. Over the years it evolved from a social activities newsletter into a business directory, classified ad service, and community bulletin board.

The Absurd In The Briar Patch: Ellison's Invisible Man And Existentialism, Eliot J. Wilcox
The Absurd In The Briar Patch: Ellison's Invisible Man And Existentialism, Eliot J. Wilcox
Theses and Dissertations
This article claims that Ralph Ellison's use and then revision of French existential themes is essential to understanding his overriding message of Invisible Man: Ellison's hope for a more polyglot American democracy that transcends the white democracy of mid twentieth century America. In order to establish this claim, I …
