Lisa learned how to manage a business and the work ethic that goes with it from watching her parents run their businesses. Introduction

Interchangeable with holy/sacred book, “scriptures” is the English language term that is still popularly used to refer to a text or collection of texts deemed to be of special if not unique origins, authority and power. Users of the term also tend to assume that “the Bible” of the Jewish and Christian traditions represents either the only instance of such or the example par excellence among some others. Does Montclair State’s resident string quartet ever rest on its laurels? Banish the thought. The Shanghai Quartet and celebrated pipa virtuoso Wu Man perform the world premiere of Lei Liang’s Five Seasons, commissioned by the Quartet. The program also includes Beethoven’s Quartet op. 18, no. 3; Schumann’s Quartet op. 41, no.1; and Wang Huiran’s “Dance of the Yi People,” performed on the pipa.

The purpose of this article is to describe the scope and depth of the historic corporate annual report collections in twelve academic/research libraries in North America. For many decades, a few major academic business libraries have been collecting and preserving corporate Annual Reports (ARS), the reports sent to shareholders documenting the financial status and future plans of the company. Today these historic collections provide more than a record of the companies’ finances; they provide a glimpse into the social and cultural thoughts from the past and the corporate stories of individual companies. 2010-2011 PEAK Explores the Answer: Experiments in Arts & Technology

This 60-minute performance set within Christopher Janney’s 36-column sound and light installation Everywhere Is the Best Seat will be a unique experiment in live and MIDI-triggered sounds. Moving from environmental music to R&B and jazz, Janney and friends create an immersive musical experience, exploring the “hidden music” of sound as part of and detached from the instruments and performers who make them. Special guests include Dave Revels and Jimmy Hayes of The Persuasions, Stan Strickland, Wes Wirth, Jerry Leake, and Eddie Grenga.

In his 1978 memoirs, President Nixon claimed, “By using diplomatic signals and behind-the-scenes pressures we had been able to save West Pakistan from the imminent threat of Indian aggression and domination. We had also once again avoided a major confrontation with the Soviet Union.”[1] Kissinger’s far more detailed chapter on “the tilt,” in the first volume of his memoirs, White House Years, complements and largely corroborates Nixon’s. Kissinger argued that Nixon did not want to “squeeze Yahya” and tried to put forward a neutral posture to the bloodshed in East Pakistan so as not to encourage secessionist elements within an …

Correspondence, chiefly between brothers, Francis Marion Wade, Russell County, Kentucky, and Cyrenius Wade while the later was attending school in Elkton, Todd County, Kentucky. The letters contain comments about the school, the town of Elkton, and courting. Numerous receipts for the brothers as well as the Thomas family of Russell County are also included. The letters were typescripted and annotated by Marion Lee Adams.
