This piece was originally recorded for Capstone Records in 1990. At the time, this beautiful bird was disappearing from the American West and was on the endangered species list.
The piece is in two movements. The first is “nesting music”, the second takes flight, and moves through several adventurous episodes, but finally settles back into the opening serenity. The work ends with echoing calls fading into silence.

All Student Newspapers
Duct was an experimental student magazine “for communication.” The 1990 issue features overlaid and partial text, making it difficult to read the contents. The focus of the publication appears to be the Graphic Design department, with an "article" discussing the lack of women professors, another article dealing with whether Barbara Kruger is a graphic designer, an interview with a student named "Maria," and other text.
Integrating A Kodaly Music Curriculum Into A Developmental Early Childhood Program, Phyllis Entin
Integrating A Kodaly Music Curriculum Into A Developmental Early Childhood Program, Phyllis Entin
Theses and Dissertations
Nye (1975) states that the music teacher in a developmental early childhood program needs to have a "fundamental understanding of music in order to plan and organize music experiences based on reliable theories of how children think and learn" (p.41). The Kodaly approach is based on theories of child development and learning. Its specific sequential organization and developmental presentation of material separates it from other early 110 childhood music programs. The teacher trained in the Kodaly approach has a sound understanding of the musical elements presented in the song material. Both musical analysis and teaching techniques enable the teacher to …

The Piano Sonata in C major, L. 104, by Domenico Scarlatti, is perhaps the best known of Scarlatti's sonatas. It is the only one with a recapitulation which mirrors in each possible detail the parts of the exposition. Small though its proportions are (sixty-six measures), this piece nevertheless contains within 1 t all the essential elements of classical sonata form. The opening subject in C major is followed by a second subject in G major, distinct in its rhythmic and melodic contours from the first. The development is constructed of material derived from the first subject presented in different tonalities: …
Variation Procedures In Northern Ewe Song, V. Kofi Agawu
Variation Procedures In Northern Ewe Song, V. Kofi Agawu
Publications and Research
The major organizational principle of Northern Ewe song is one shared by numerous African, Oriental, and European musical traditions: a small number of models (variously described as "basic shapes," "archetypes," "background structures," "basic designs," "core patterns," "deep structures") is transformed in a wide variety of ways during performance. Variation takes place on different hierarchic levels both within and between songs and includes practically all of a song's dimensions (rhythm, interval, register, contour, harmony, and so on). This principle, although widely demonstrated in the literature on African song (see, among others, Jones 1976; Kauffman 1984; Schmidt 1984; and Erlmann 1985), is …

Graduate Bassoon Recital, Laurie A. Hoeppner
Dissertations and Theses @ UNI
This recital was performed by Laurie Hoeppner on March 9, 1990 in partial fulfillment of the Master of Music in performance (bassoon) degree. The pieces were representative of various style periods, including Baroque, Classic, and Twentieth Century. Benedetto Marcello (1686-1739) was an Italian composer of the baroque era. He learned to play . the violin under his father's instruction, but later turned his attention to vocal and contrapuntal studies. Following his father's wishes, Marcello also pursued a legal career during his lifetime. Marcello's music includes a variety of genres; the Sonata in G Major is typical of his style. The …
