This study was designed to investigate whether teaching mothers to ask divergent questions would have a direct effect on their four year old child 's creativity. It was hypothesized that children whose mothers received the training in divergent questioning techniques would do better on a test of creativity than children whose mothers, did not receive the training.

Twenty mother and child groups were included in the study. The twenty were divided randomly into two groups, ten groups to receive the treatment and ten to receive no treatment. Six treatment sheets were then administered in the homes to the experimental group …

The feasibility of photographic speed values for positive photoresist is evaluated. Speed is defined as the reciprocal of exposure necessary to produce a desired response. An outline of the microlithographic process, the chemistry of positive resist, and previous exposure models precede the experimental body of work to facilitate understanding of the photoresist system. The experimental method proposes a mathematical model describing the resist response to exposure. Photographic speed values result from this model. Image restoration by short space spectral subtraction has been applied recursively to a photographic system in an attempt to increase the signal to noise ratio proportionally to the amount of optical density present. The image is smoothed in the frequency domain a small space at a time based on the power spectrum at a given density level. The method is a variable filter that is a function of photographic density.

Direct transfer cylinders are usually imaged from positives created off of the camera back. In this thesis a method was proposed to create positives from a dot-generating laser scanner that would fit the requirements of direct transfer cylinders. A test gray scale was scanned and a positive produced which contained square dots as opposed to round dots. This positive was used to etch a cylinder and then the cylinder was run on the Champlaln rotogravure press, located in the school of printing. This paper discusses the ways in which mid-life mothers reflected their attitudes toward the emerging womanhood of their adolescent daughters through art work. It concerns natural and normal developmental stresses which occur as mothers and daughters pass through difficult life stages somewhat simultaneously. A non-clinical group of four mothers between 38 and 44-years old with daughters between 14 and 17-years old responded to five specifically designed drawing tasks derived from literature on mid-life and mothers and daughters. A survey of radiographic films to establish the best donor/receiver combination for use in the autoradiographic image intensification technique was studied. Underexposed images of a 16 step aluminum wedge and a resolution target were made with Kodak film types XG-1, XL-5, XV-2, NMC or DuPont Cronex film. The underexposed, developed and processed films were treated in a subtractive photographic reducer (mixture of potassium ferricyanide and sodium thiosulfate) prior to radioactivation with an alkaline solution of sulfur-35 thiourea. A four-parameter group-contribution model (UNIFAC) has been developed for the prediction of heats of mixing of non-electrolyte mixtures. Both the UNIFAC and AGSM models are evaluated over a wide range of temperature dependencies of the group interaction parameters. The UNIFAC model has been chosen over the AGSM model and an optimum parameter-temperature relationship has been established.

Adopting the optimum temperature dependency, group inter-action parameters have been calculated using UNIFAC for the prediction of four types of mixtures: n-Alcohols/n-Alkanes; Benzene/n-Alkanes; Nitriles/n-Alkanes; Amines/n-Alkanes.
