With an appropriate lens, focusing arrangement, film and processing, motor driven 35mm cameras will attain resolutions of hundreds of line pairs per millimeter. The combination of a narrow depth of focus, unusually thin films, a relatively large film gate and rapidly advancing films can produce imagery with less than optimum resolution across or within individual frames. A vacuum platen and an additional styrene pressure plate were fitted to a motorized 35mm camera in an effort to insure the film lies flat. This culminating project explores the role of awareness in personal growth within the context of art therapy. Drawing from phenomenological psychology and Taoist philosophy, the author argues that every individual possesses an innate potential for self-actualization, which can be fully realized through heightened awareness. However, various psychological and cultural blocks—such as repression, trauma, social conditioning, and attachment to past or future experiences—often obstruct this awareness, impeding personal growth and creative functioning.

A mathematical model describing the displayed selectivity of the kidney nephron to macromolecules of varying particle size is presented. Diffusion and electrical forces are considered to be the sole mechanisms of transfer. The mass transfer principles responsible for selectivity are considered to occur within the capillary structure, and not within the membrane wall. A charge is assumed to be characteristic of the macromolecule and the membrane wall. Models describing both charged and uncharged solutes are developed.
