Distribution and area of mangrove forest in Pising Bay coastal area North Kabaena Island Southeast Sulawesi. Researched of mangrove forest in Pising Bay, North Kabaena Island Southeast Sulawesi was carried out on April 2006. Data digital Landsat 7ETM+ parth/raw 113/064 was used for mangrove mapping. Classification method was done is multispectral supervised with artificial neural networks algortms. Analysis and data validation from field survey, it is estimated that distribution and areas of mangrove forest in Pising Bay, North Kabaena Island Southeast Sulawesi is 152.128 Ha. Isolation and Cloning of cDNA Fragment of Gene Encoding for Multidrug Resistance Associated Protein from M. affine. M. affine can grow well in acid soil with high level of soluble aluminum. One of the important proteins in the detoxifying xenobiotic stress including acid and Al stresses is a multidrug resistance associated protein (MRP) encoded by mrp gene. This paper looks at an early nineteenth-century Malay letter from a land of exile, Ceylon (present Sri Lanka). The letter, written in Colombo, was dated 3 January 1807 and is in Leiden University Library MS Cod.Or.2241-I 25 [Klt 21/no.526]. It was written by Siti Hapipa, the widow of the exiled Sultan Fakhruddin Abdul Khair al-Mansur Baginda Usman Batara Tangkana Gowa, the 26th king of the Gowa Sultanate of South Sulawesi who reigned from 1753 until 1767. Japan and the Netherlands have maintained a special relationship for about 300 years since the adoption of the National Seclusion policy, the so-called sakoku by the Tokugawa shogunate (1603-1867). The Dutch began trading with Japan and engaging with Japanese society in 1600, when a Dutch ship, De Liefde, arrived in Kyushu. The Tokugawa government measures regarding foreign policy included regulations on foreign access to Japan and a prohibition on Japanese going abroad. In the Dutch colonial literature of the mid nineteenth century, the njai (Asian concubine) is the symbol of degeneration and of undermining colonial society in the Dutch Indies. Opposed to this portrayal, in Malay literature the image of the njai is on the whole positive: she is faithful and loyal to her partner, intelligent, and economical. However, she easily falls victim to external powers, which is often the masculine power of the society she belongs to. In many Malay texts she is represented as ready to fight back, primarily for the sake of the future of her offspring(s) or herself. …

This article addresses the research on media history in Indonesia. The VOC (Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie) period of the seventeenth/eighteenth century, also known as the early modern period, is regarded as a starting point in this study. It was during this time that printing machines were imported from Europe by the VOC authorities. The availability of paper and printing ink also made it possible for the production of printed matter such as forms, books, and other material. When the first technology of photography came to the Netherlands-Indies in the nineteenth century, it was only used for government purposes and was not yet meant for public consumption. On the other hand, the rise of colonial tourism in the Netherlands-Indies in the early twentieth century required a medium for promotion. Photographs were the right choice because, as the saying goes, pictures could tell more than words. Documentary maker Vincent Monnikendam compiled the film Mother Dao, the turtlelike (1995) from more than 200 titles of archived films of the Dutch-Indies, shot between 1912 to ca. 1933. This film is neither a remake nor an edited version, but a kind of collage from those hundreds of archival films, all were silent. Monnikendam re-arranged the images and provided them with a new sound frame, consisting of songs, chantings and poems, in Indonesian, Old Javanese, and Sundanese. Kehamilan pranikah remaja adalah fenomena kehidupan remaja yang dapat mengganggu kesehatan reproduksi secara fisik, mental dan sosial serta komplikasi dan kematian ibu dan bayi. Secara psikososial, remaja dapat terkucil, merasa malu, depresi, putus sekolah, sulit bekerja, miskin dan menambah pertumbuhan penduduk. Kebiasaan merokok merupakan kausa kematian tinggi yang menjadi masalah kesehatan dunia. Data tahun 2004, jumlah perokok memperlihatkan tren meningkat dari 32% menjadi 35%. Jakarta menempati posisi tertinggi jumlah perokok. Penyakit ISPA non specific menempati level tertinggi dan terbanyak pada tahun 2006 dan diduga merupakan dampak kebiasaan merokok. Salah satu upaya pemerintah menurunkan kebiasaan merokok adalah peringatan tertulis pada label sigaret. Pra-diabetes adalah kondisi berisiko Diabates Melitus tipe 2 yang dipengaruhi oleh faktor keturunan dan perilaku dengan prevalensi yang lebih tinggi daripada Diabates Melitus. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui hubungan faktor risiko perilaku konsumsi lemak, konsumsi serat, konsumsi karbohidrat, aktivitas fisik dan merokok dengan kejadian pra-diabetes setelah dikendalikan oleh faktor keturunan. This research aims at examining dividend-signaling hypothesis by testing the relationship between dividend changes and operational performance as well as market performance. The sample consists of 75 firms for the period 2000-2005. The analysis employed are multiple regressions and event study. The results on operational performance show that (1) dividend increase (with earnings increase or earnings decrease) correlates significantly with the increase of next period company ’s profitability, (2) dividend decrease and earnings decrease negatively correlate with next period company's profitability, (3) dividend decrease and earnings increase positively correlate with next period company ’s profitability, and (4) unchanged dividend does …

Analisis multivariat konvensioanal tidak selalu merupakan metode ideal untuk memprediksi efek pajanan pada studi-studi observasional. Ketika distribusi kovariat antara kelompok pajanan berbeda besar, penyesuaan dengan teknik multivariat konvensioanl tidak cukup menyeimbangkan kelompok tersebut. Bias yang tersisa dapat menghambat penarikan kesimpulan yang valid. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membandingkan hasil analisis multivariat konvensional dengan analisis metoda propensity score matching pada studi kasus data sekunder imunisasi bayi ASUH KAP2 2003. The antimicrobial activity and cytotoxic effect of ethanol extract of Acalypha indica Linn, Phaleria macrocarpa (Sheff) Boerl and Pandanus conoideus Lam, had been carried out. The results of the research showed that those ethanol extracts had antimi-crobial activities against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Pseudomonas aeruginosae ATCC 27853 and Candida albicans. The determi-nation of cytotoxic effects of those ethanol extracts by brine shrimp lethality test (BSLT) using Artemia salina Leach showed that LC50 of Acalypha indica Linn, Phaleria macrocarpa (Sheff) Boerl and Pandanus conoideus Lam were 1,279 ug/ml, 0.123 ug/ml and 0.054 ug/ml respectively.

An usage evaluation of intravenous pharmaceutical dosage form for infectious dis-eases at one of the private hospitals in Bandung by retrospective method on October to December 2005 had been done based on the rationality of drug used according to the certain criteria. The result of the evaluation from 1170 prescriptions found that the combination of two or more drugs was 7.78%, no drug dose improper, no duplication of drug used, nor interaction with another drugs were found. The preparation of intravenous pharmaceutical dosage form had been well done, but the aseptic tech-nique still less of attention.

The matter of treaty is always be interesting to discuss, especially when it somes to the question whether a state will regard a treaty which has been ratified as a part of national law that could be directly executed or not. Many opinions from various experts have been spelt out in different media. This article will discuss various aspects of treaty especially in Indonesian legal system, which was previously presented in a seminar organized by Center for International Law Studies and Ministry of Foreign Affairs overviewed certain affairs regarding implementation of treaties in Indonesia.

Critical discourse analysis (CDA) has become a very influential interdisciplinary approach, which views a discourse as a form of social practice. Antipoligamy discourse, as a social practice persisted for a long time ago in Indonesia, offers chalenging discussions in the perspective of CDA. Teun van Dijk, as one of the pioneers of CDA, articulates ideology as the basis of the social representations of groups. Furthermore, he advocates a sociocognitive interface between social structures and discourse structures. This correlational study is to show the role of deductive and inductive reasoning abilities as aspects of cognitive development on expository text comprehension among high school students who already have a capacity to think in conceptual and hyphotetical ways and to examine how they correlate and influence the text comprehension process. This study has broaden our knowledge of language and thinking, as it is different from other previous studies that focused on comprehension process among elementary students, narrative, reading strategies, and comprehension difficulties.
