Chlorella vulgaris Buitenzorg cultivation using three bubble column photo bioreactors arranged in series with a volume of 200 mL for 130 hours shows an increase of biomass production of Chlorella vulgaris Buitenzorg up to 1.20 times and a decrease of the ability of CO2 fixation compared to single reactor at a periodic sun illumination cycle. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor risiko yang berhubungan dengan kejadian TB paru BTA (+) di Kabupaten Rejang Lebong. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah disain kasus kontrol. Kelompok kasus adalah penderita TB Paru BTA (+) berumur >15 tahun yang berobat pada Oktober 2005 sampai Mei 2006. This paper examines the experience of Radio Elshinta in Jakarta with people-initiated journalism long before the descriptor “citizen journalism” emerged as a topic of research in academic level. Elshinta has 100,000 listeners, most with no formal training in journalism, contributing to its news broadcast since 2000. This study compares Elshinta’s experience with a popular online citizen media portal Ohmynews in South Korea and attempts to identify the catalysts of ‘citizen journalism’ in the two countries. Selection and test of L-histidine decarboxylase enzyme activity of six isolates of histamine forming bacteria. Six isolates of histamine forming bacteria were screened to see the degree of ability in producing histamine on modified Niven’s medium. The result showed that the six bacteria were able to produce histamine by giving a pinkish color on the medium, which could be used as a preliminary identification of histamine-forming bacteria (HFB). The isolates were grown in liquid modified Niven medium to measure the production of histamine. The histamine produced were determined by Hardy and Smith method. The result showed that all of the …

There is little information how to identify hydrocarbon degrading bacteria for bioremediation of marine oil spills. We have used gravel which contaminated oil mousse from Beach Simulator Tank, in Marine Biotechnology Institute, Kamaishi, Japan, and grown on enrichment culture. Biostimulation with nutrients (N and P) was done to analyze biodegradation of hydrocarbon compounds: Naphthalene, Phenanthrene, Trichlorodibenzofuran and Benzo[a]pyrene. Community of bacteria from enrichment culture was determined by DGGE. Isolating and screening the bacteria on inorganic medium contain hydrocarbon compounds and determination of bacteria by DAPI (number of cells) and CFU. Influence of Uracil in Fermentation Media on β-Glucan Production by Agrobacterium Radiobacter A 1.5 and Agrobacterium sp. Bro 1.2.1. Optimum β-glucan production can be achieved by an optimum condition in the fermentation media. Uracil, as a precursor of UDP-glucose, may act as a glucose donor in the formation of polysaccharides such as β-glucan. Estrogenic Effect of 70% Ethanol Turmeric (Curcuma domestica Val.) extract on ovariectomized Female Mice (Mus musculus L.). The influence of extract turmeric (Curcuma domestica Val.) on endometrium thickness, vaginal epithelium, mammary gland, and protein of estrogen receptor of ovariectomized mice was examined. Twenty five ovariectomized mice which were divided into five groups, were treated by ethynilestradiol (8,4 x 10-3 g), aquades (10 ml), and turmeric extract at doses 230 mg/kg b.w.; 310 mg/kg b.w.; and 390 mg/kg b.w. for eight days. Because of that, fire and explosion risk assessment on Premium oil storage tank at Depot X is needed as foundation to fire and explosion risk management, and comply with regulations. Method of this research is Dow’s Fire and Explosion Index. This research indicate that F&EI value for Premium oil storage tank is 118,82. Based on that F&EI value, level of risk at Premium oil storage tank is intermediate risk.

In 1947, the Republic of Indonesia (RI) sent a diplomatic mission to seek the international community's acknowledgement for the nation's independence. The mission in the Arab nations, particularly in Egypt, was severely challenged by the Netherlands. However, with a spirit of solidarity, the people and government of Egypt supported the struggle and acknowledged RI's independence, de facto and de jure. Diplomacy was implemented in maintaining RI's sovereignty which was threatened to be retaken by the Netherlands. Meanwhile, the struggles in military area were maintained to dissipate the Netherlands from Indonesia.

Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui peranan Dinas Kesehatan (Dinkes) Kabuppaten Tangerang mengawasi dan mengendalikan formalin pada makanan. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Nopember 2006-Pebruari 2007. Dengan metode kualitatif wawancara mendalam dan penelusuran dokumen. Sumber data adalah Dinkes Kabupaten Tangerang dan Puskesmas terpilih. Research has called for increased demand of non financial measures (NFM) disclosure. This research examines the association between firm characteristics and the extent of NFM disclosure. Furthermore, we investigate the value relevance of NFM disclosure and its effects to cost of equity andfirms performance. Kecenderungan peningkatan penggunaan antibiotika di Pelayanan Kesehatan Dasar merupakan penggunaaan obat yang tidak rasional dan akan menghambat penurunan angka morbiditas dan mortalitas penyakit. Pemberian antibiotika yang berlebihan akan meningkatkan resistensi bakteri dan meningkatkan pembiayaan obat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui gambaran utilisasi obat antibiotika Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa persentase resep obat pasien RJTP yang berisi antibiotika 37,74 %. Proporsi terbesar pemanfaatan obat antibiotika pada pasien RJTP di Puskesmas Tebet tahun 2005 ditemukan pada kelompok usia dewasa (12-65 tahun) yaitu sebesar 56,5 %, pasien yang bayar sendiri yaitu sebesar 89,8 %, penyakit infeksi lain selain ISPA yaitu sebesar 61,6 % dan …

Di Indonesia, angka kematian ibu (AKI) masih tinggi jika dibanding dengan negara-negara ASEAN. Penyebab utama kematian ibu adalah komplikasi obstetri yang merupakan penyulit atau penyakit yang timbul pada waktu kehamilan, persalinan dan pasca persalinan. Di Indonesia, komplikasi obstetri (20% dari seluruh ibu hamil) masih sangat tinggi, sementara yang mampu ditangani hanya sekitar 10%. Berbagai faktor yang mempengaruhi komplikasi obstetri adalah status reproduksi, perilaku pencarian pelayanan kesehatan dan status kesehatan. Penelitian yang berujuan mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan komplikasi obstetri ini menggunakan desain studi cross-sectional dengan sumber data primer. The death of a language becomes very popular issue recently all over the world and it is included Sundanese language. This has something to do with the phenomenon which was happened in West Java, especially Bandung, where most of the people, especially young generation are assumed becoming reluctant to use Sundanese language in their daily conversation. This tendency is interesting to be analyzed from the language death point of view. Because of that reason, we need comphrehensive strategic efforts to maintain Sundanese language from extinction.

In Modern life, peoples are more conscious to keep their healthy. One of the way to keep our body healthy is by keeping our hand clean. Washing hands with soap and water, sometimes is unpractical since it need water to rinse off the soap. Prod-uct innovation has been developed to overcome the unpractical side, which is called antiseptic hand wash or hand sanitizer. This study has been done to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of some hand sanitizer products marketed in Jakarta.
