Ensuring accurate traffic perception and road safety in complex urban environments remains a significant challenge. Advanced traffic monitoring increasingly relies on deep learning, which requires large data volumes. However, existing datasets are often limited to CCTV video footage or focus on dynamic scenarios captured by sensors mounted on ego vehicles. This narrow perspective reduces the effectiveness of comprehensive traffic monitoring, particularly for LiDAR sensors, which typically capture only the vehicle's viewpoint and miss critical areas such as intersections and pedestrian crossings. In the world of collegiate rocketry, there are currently no commercial-off-the-shelf flight computers capable of being fitted to liquid engine rockets with thrust vectoring control. Currently, amateur rocketeers utilize unreliable Arduino-based systems or expensive drone computers. The objective of this project is to design a flight computer capable of data collection and filtering, telemetry transmission, and real-time controls of critical safety systems using readily available commercial-off-the-shelf components to allow rocketeers to complete their designs within a reasonable budget. This project takes a look at the implementation of three distinct free Network Monitoring Systems (NMSs) and their usage of monitoring a small, virtualized network using the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). The 3 free NMSs are PRTG, LibreNMS, and Zabbix. The network is virtualized within Cisco Modeling Labs. A literature review on relevant media is conducted alongside a review of the three NMSs based on installation difficulty, user friendliness, reporting ability, and their ability to respond to changes in the network. A brief discussion on the difference between an SNMPv2 and SNMPv3 packet is included as well.

NASA's Artemis program requires precise navigation capabilities to establish the first sustained presence on the lunar surface. However, as launches bring necessary orbital infrastructure, the Artemis program will face a critical period during which reliable lunar navigation is not possible. To address this challenge, the V.E.C.T.O.R. system tracks assets, such as rovers and astronauts, as User Terminals relative to a pre-existing cell tower, or Base Station. To do so, the system leverages existing Base Station hardware to calculate the location of User Terminals in conjunction with existing communications infrastructure.

Contextual understanding is a significant challenge of Large Language Models (LLMs), which are typically trained on general-purpose datasets. Due to this, LLMs fail to capture nuanced or domain-specific information and may struggle to interpret user queries accurately. Consequently, prompt engineering can become complex in automating, and LLMs are prone to “hallucinating”—generating random or irrelevant texts—when they lack sufficient context. A high-speed, shape-transitioned, inward-turning intake was tested in Purdue’s Boeing/AFOSR Mach 6 Quiet Tunnel. The inlet model, called the Indiana Inlet (INlet), had a total contraction ratio of 4.68:1 and a design point of Mach 6 at 0° angle of attack. The model was outfitted with a suite of high-frequency pressure transducers, and the external flowfield was imaged with high-speed schlieren photography. The INlet was tested under low freestream disturbance levels for a variety of freestream unit Reynolds numbers and at-4° angle of attack. Cloud-MANET environments require a system to balance load and control congestion. As a result of integrating real-time network metrics with predictive traffic algorithms, the proposed model optimizes the management of dynamic topologies, network bandwidth constraints, and fluctuating traffic loads. In addition to energy-aware multi-path routing, the framework incorporates adaptive congestion control mechanisms to ensure data transmission is efficient and stable. This algorithm provides higher packet delivery ratios, reduces end-to-end delays, and increases throughput over existing algorithms, according to the evaluation results. Hybrid Cloud-MANET systems can benefit from this approach by optimizing resource utilization and network performance.

In modern network environments, the increasing sophistication of cyberattacks poses significant risks, particularly through Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) spoofing and Man-in-the-Middle (MITM) attacks, which exploit vulnerabilities in local area networks. Existing tools often focus on detection or protection at the client side, leaving network-wide detection and response largely unaddressed. Smart thermostats, as part of the growing Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem, face vulnerabilities such as unauthorized access, data breaches, and inconsistent security protocols. Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) systems are essential for real-time power grid monitor- ing but often face data loss due to network delays, equipment malfunctions, or transmis- sion errors. Traditional centralized recovery solutions introduce significant latency and scalability challenges. This thesis presents a P4-based in-network recovery mechanism that embeds detection and recovery directly into the data plane of P4-enabled programmable switches, significantly reducing recovery time and infrastructure complexity. Using the Aurora 610 switch, the system detects missing packets via sequence number analysis and recovers magnitudes with an efficient register-based algorithm.
