Computer architecture simulators are widely used to evaluate different design options and tradeoffs. This work explores different x86 computer architecture simulators and shows the experimental error of the simulators compared to real hardware runs. We selected gem5, Sniper, MARSSx86 and Zsim, and configured them to model one of the state-of-the- art high-performance processors, Intel’s Haswell microarchitecture. We compared simulators features and statistics, and quantified the experimental error of simulators for single- and multi-core runs compared to a real hardware platform. Finally, we pointed some causes of inaccuracies resulted by the simulators.

InfiniBand is a popular Input/Output interconnect technology used in High Performance Computing clusters. It is employed in over a quarter of the world’s 500 fastest computer systems. Although it was created to provide extremely low network latency with a high Quality of Service, the cybersecurity aspects of InfiniBand have yet to be thoroughly investigated. The InfiniBand Architecture was designed as a data center technology, logically separated from the Internet, so defensive mechanisms such as packet encryption were not implemented. This research presents and solves constrained real-world problems of using synthetic data to train artificial neural networks (ANNs) to detect unresolved moving objects in wide field of view (WFOV) electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) satellite motion imagery. Achieving long-term goals has a large impact on one’s life. However, this success requires focused, consistent work even when the achievement is not imminent. Presently, we turn to calendars and task management applications for help. But, these tools quickly become cluttered making it difficult to visualize progress. I created an iPhone application which emphasizes long-term thinking. First-time users must provide three long-term goals with deadlines. Then, they have the opportunity to add smaller, to-do items to their week. For each item, the user must specify a long-term goal to which it is associated. The long-term association ensures users stay focused.

In a repeated interaction setting, the defender can collect attack data over time to reduce this uncertainty and learn an effective defense.
