High schools must create skill- and decision-making experiences to support student college and career readiness and effective transitions to careers. However, traditional career education models have lacked effectiveness. This study examines a career pathway model that includes career orientation courses focused on developing career awareness and advising, confirming and challenging student’s career decision-making. Surveys and interviews were used to identify impacts these courses had on student career choice and the influence different aspects of the orientation course had on their decision-making. The particular study aimed to determine the effectiveness of achievement motivation training (AMT) in increasing the achievement motivation of junior high school students. The study used an interrupted time-series design which conducted on an intact group consisting of eight subjects. Data measurements carried out three times in the pre-test and post-test conditions with six forms of achievement motivation scale. The AMT intervention in the psychoeducation frame consists of two strategies, namely achievement thinking and action strategies which are carried out in 12 sessions. The results showed that there is a difference between achievement motivation scores before and after AMT interventions.

The objective of this research is to identify the influence of intelligence and social self interest on the adaptation skill of the department of guidance and counseling students. This quantitative research used the multiple regression analysis. It used purposive total sampling technique, with sample of 38 students of Department of Guidance and Counseling, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM). The results show that intelligence and social self interest of the department of guidance and counseling students simultaneously influence the adaptation skill of 35.9%, while the remaining 64.1% is influenced by other factors.

To address this challenge, the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) teamed up with the Scholarly Communications Team to introduce ‘Mentor Badging,’ creating a one-stop, searchable database of available mentors. Using a SelectedWorks Mentor Badge gives the OUR team, fellow faculty, and student researchers the opportunity to track available faculty mentors and the nature of the faculty research projects. Two sections of research methods were offered to Master’s level Counselor Education students during the same semester; one section was a traditional classroom setting and the second section was a web/hybrid course. Students were surveyed about their fears surrounding the academic requirements of a research methods course and fears about the type of instruction for the course at the beginning and at the end of the class. Data showed that students in the web-hybrid course indicated higher levels of fear than the students in the traditional classroom setting. This phenomological study explored seven women counselor educators’ experiences with committing and receiving microaggressions within the context of their professional roles and academic responsibilities. The following themes emerged: continuum of awareness, responding to microaggressions, power in academia, impact of microaggressions, and intersection of identity. Implications and recommendations for counselor educators and administrators are provided.

Counselor education is committed to exploring innovative pedagogy to provide opportunities for counselor trainees to increase multicultural competence. International cultural immersion and service –learning create an environment for counselors-in-training to explore their cultural competence through cultural interactions, relationships, and heightened self-awareness. This exploratory, qualitative, phenomenological study using focus group data collection investigated the lived experience of counselors-in-training through international cultural immersion and service-learning. A creative journal arts and positive psychology intervention was utilized to explore resilience, personal recovery attitudes, and symptoms of depression in Latina/o adolescents. The impact of a seven-week group counseling experience conducted with adolescents was analyzed and revealed positive improvements for participants in all three areas. Benefits for Latina/o youth participating in this type of group are discussed and guidelines for school counselors and clinical mental health counselors are revealed.
