Long recognized as a cultural watershed and touchstone of modernity, the World's Fair held in Chicago in 1893 was also the site of the first large-scale international library of writing by women, the result of years of planning and cooperation by women's organizations in twenty-four countries around the world. This database contains bibliographic records for all of the items submitted to the Woman's Building Library by committees of women in the United States. The foundation of the database is a shelf-list of titles that was prepared onsite in 1893 and preserved long after the original collection was disbanded. With support …

A City Fragmented, is an explorartion of the city of El Paso and its various districts. Through this a fragmentation within the city is found. This fragmentation gives El Paso a unique character, one that threads each distric together which creates a connection. A City Fragmented, revolves around the themes of loss and want, which look to help find an identity for El Paso, the speaker and the poet.

And Then It Clicked is a crime fiction novel about an African-American female detective from Louisville, Kentucky who accepts a case centered on the issue of domestic violence. It tells the story of an abused woman murdered in her home. Her husband, initially suspected of the crime, has an air-tight alibi and the family asks Adrienne, the detective, to find out who killed her and why. Adrienne has had past experiences with domestic violence and the new case causes her trauma to resurface.

esponding to an increase in the literary output of Arab-American and Middle Eastern women in the post September 1 ll Attacks, I examined three exemplary memoirs: Leila Ahmad's A Border Passage, Zainab Salbi's Between Two Worlds, and Marjane Satrapi's The Complete Persepolis. This study examines these memoirists' journeys back and forth from their homes of origin to their host homes in the West. In spite of the substantial amount of critical work that has been produced on Indian cinema in the last decade, misconceptions about Indian cinema still abound. Indian cinema is a subject about which conceptions are still muddy, even within prominent academic circles. The majority of the recent critical work on the subject endeavors to correct misconceptions, analyze cinematic norms and lay down the theoretical foundations for Indian cinema. This study is situated within the field of writing teacher education and investigates the professional development of first-year composition instructors. The purpose of this study is to examine the flexibility of one K-12 teacher professionalization model, the professional learning community (PLC), for offering first-year composition instructors ongoing support and for promoting instructors' pedagogical content knowledge growth.
