The Town of Flower Mound is planning to construct 700-feet of road between two existing dead-end streets of Lake Forest Boulevard, located approximately 2 km to the northeast of Grapevine Lake in Denton County, Texas. A 100-foot-wide study corridor was surveyed for the project area. The 1.7-acre study areas was surveyed on August 16, 2017. All shovel tests were negative; however, a historic cistern/well feature was recorded as site 41DN604. The site is not associated with any other features or with any structures as demonstrated by historic maps and aerials dating back to 1918. The site is recommended as not …

Oncor Electric Delivery Company, LLC is planning to construct the Balding POD 138-kV Transmission Line in Winkler County, Texas. Halff Associates, Inc, the routing consultant for Oncor, contracted with AR Consultants, Inc. to conduct an intensive pedestrian survey of the 370-m proposed transmission line route located on University of Texas School Lands. Survey was conducted on August 30, 2017. Four shovel tests were excavated and transects were walked within the 100-ft survey corridor (2.7 acres); no cultural resources were identified in these shovel tests nor on the surface. (AECOM) was contracted by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to perform a cultural resources survey in support of plans to rehabilitate Floodwater Retention Structures (FRSs) 10 and 11, located in Ellis County, Texas. Rehabilitation activities for FRSs generally consist of widening and raising the earthen spillway, flattening the downstream slope and extending the footprint of the earthen structure, updating or replacing the inlet and/or outlet pipes, and sediment excavation within the drained pool area. TRC conducted intensive, linear pedestrian surveys of six (6) proposed routes. These lines are part of an approximate total of 58,180 linear feet of 8-inch potable water lines, 13,130 linear feet of 12-inch potable water lines, 11,240 linear feet of 16-inch potable water lines, and approximately 120 potable water service line household connections (3/4-inch). These potable water lines will connect to approximately 63 fire hydrants. The current neighborhood does not contain any existing water and wastewater facilities for residents. The residents of these areas currently use private water storage tanks, which typically have a capacity of up to 2,500 gallons. …

In March 2017, Gray & Pape, Inc., of Houston, Texas, conducted mechanical backhoe scraping and trenching on property adjacent to Oyster Creek within undeveloped areas within the Aliana Subdivision, Fort Bend County, Texas. The backhoe testing was conducted to investigate a total of seven anomalies identified using ground penetrating radar during previous investigations conducted in 2006 and 2007. These seven anomalies contained radar signatures that were consistent with possible human burials and thus were considered to possibly be burials associated with the yet undiscovered location of the Kirk’s Point Cemetery. In 2016, Gray & Pape, Inc., of Houston, Texas, performed a preliminary archaeological and historical desktop assessment of 22.2-kilometers (13.8 miles) proposed for the West Harris County Regional Water Authority, Second Source Transmission Line Project – Segment 3 Alignment, in Harris County, Texas. The conclusion of that study was that most of the project’s Area of Potential Effects occurred within areas that had previously been disturbed by the construction of roads, parking lots, and artificial drainages. This project, sponsored by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, spans portions of State Mineral Lease Tracts 17A and 20A in Calhoun County. The area of potential effect (APE) proposed for reefing is 30 acres. A total of 50 acres was surveyed, including a 50- meter buffer around the APE. Water depth averages 5 feet.
