This report documents the findings of an archeological survey of TxDOT's proposed Campus Consolidation project in Austin, Travis County, Texas. On September 5-7 and 11 Ama Terra surveyed a 49-acre parcel proposed for TxDOT's new administrative campus. The survey consisted of transect pedestrian inspection. 54 shovel tests and 8 backhoe trenches. The survey documented one prehistoric site. 41TV1284, which is a previously recorded site. The boundary for this site was redrawn as not eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places or as a State Antiquities Landmark. On behalf of Medallion Pipeline Company, LLC (Medallion), SWCA Environmental Consultants (SWCA) conducted an intensive archaeological survey of portions of the Plains Connection 1 and 2 Pipeline Project that cross University of Texas Lands (University Lands) in Crane County, Texas. Medallion proposes to construct two parallel, 12-inch-diameter oil pipelines measuring approximately 0.6 mile (0.97 kilometer [km]) in length within an area marked by intensive oil and gas exploration. Both pipelines will occupy a single, 60-foot-wide (18.3-meter [m]-wide) workspace. Approximately 0.50 mile (0.8 km) of the proposed pipelines will be constructed within University Lands in Crane County, Texas. As a portion …

San Miguel Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SMECI) contracted HDR, Inc. (HDR) to conduct a cultural resources survey of the approximately 12.5-acre (544,496-square feet [ft²]) Area of Potential Effects (APE), which is bisected by Farm to Market Road 791 (FM 791) in McMullen County, Texas. This survey was conducted in advance of the proposed construction of an overpass on FM 791 to accommodate an access road (haul road) for the San Miguel Mine.

The project is north of Interstate 10 approximately 6 miles northeast of Bakersfield, on University Lands Block 16; Sections 11-14. The City of Grapevine is proposing to repair an aerial sanitary sewer across Big Bear Creek in Tarrant County, Texas. The project area is located on the south side of a horseshoe bend in the floodplain of Big Bear Creek, north of Western Oaks Drive and west of Texas State Highway 121. AR Consultants, Inc. (ARC) conducted the intensive pedestrian archaeological survey in an area approximately 50-meters by 25-meters (0.3-acres) on June 8, 2018. In May 2017, CAR staff completed a 100 percent pedestrian survey of the proposed Rogers Ranch segment of the Howard W. Peak Greenway Trails System for Adams Environmental, Inc. (AEI) on behalf of the City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department. In addition to the pedestrian survey, the field crew was tasked with completing shovel tests along this 5.9-km segment or Area of Potential Effect (APE). Oncor Electric Delivery Company, LLC is planning to construct the Riverton Sw. – Tunstill Point of Delivery (POD) and Arroyo Bluff POD 138-kV transmission line routes in Reeves County, Texas. Halff Associates, Inc., the routing consultant for Oncor, contracted with AR Consultants, Inc. to conduct an intensive pedestrian survey of the 6.57 miles of new 138-kV transmission line on private property. Survey was conducted June 4-6, 2018. Seventeen shovel tests were excavated near drainages, where buried deposits were expected, and two 15-m transects were walked within the 70-ft-wide survey corridor (approximately 54 acres).

In April 2018, personnel from Prewitt and Associates, Inc., conducted an intensive archeological survey of 120 acres of land associated with the proposed Classen-Steubing Park and conservation easement in north-central San Antonio, Texas, under Texas Antiquities Permit No. 8404. The park location is north of Loop 1604 and just west of U.S. Highway 281. The full park development will cover about 204 acres. The western 84 acres of this were included in lands surveyed in 2017 for the Classen-Steubing Master Development Project, leaving 120 acres to be covered by this survey.

The survey was conducted in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966. Archeologists from AmaTerra Environmental, Inc. AR Consultants, Inc. hypothesized that there would be low potential for both prehistoric and historic cultural resources. These hypotheses were based on the location of the pipeline route in the narrow Ranger Branch floodplain and lack of mapped historic structures remaining in the project area.
