An online undergraduate course in masonry design was created for an asynchronous delivery format and to fulfill web accessibility requirements. This report outlines the process of the course creation with Canvas as the host platform. Emphasis is placed on how content including lecture presentations, assignments, and course modules were developed with strong graphic software and communication skills. For accessibility, the content creation was guided by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA Standards. This study examines the use of natural seawater as mixing water for alkali-activated slag concrete and reports the characteristics of alkali-activated slag concrete with exposure to seawater. Preliminary experiments were conducted on pastes in order to measure pH and select optimum activator content under the experimental conditions. Wet-sieved pastes from fresh concrete were used to evaluate the mineralogical and microstructural characteristics of reaction products. Compressive strengths and chloride contents were measured with the hardened concrete samples. The activators used in alkali-activated slag concrete were sodium hydroxide (5% weight of slag) and liquid sodium silicate (5% weight of slag). The alkali-activated …

The City of San Luis Obispo is interested in developing a Missing Middle Housing Plan to promote the development of attractive, affordable housing in the city. Middle housing includes duplexes, triplexes, cottage courts, and townhomes. Although middle housing is not necessarily affordable by definition, it can increase housing affordability by improving the diversity of housing types available. Where the occupants are tenants the cause of the conditions and identification of the parties responsible can cause much stress. Condensation and mould growth on the internal surface of a room are caused by a combination of factors due to specific conditions.
