พื้นที่เขตทางรถไฟเก่าภายในเขตเมืองมักถูกปล่อยทิ้งร้างหรือใช้ประโยชน์อย่างไม่เต็มศักยภาพ ทั้งที่เป็นพื้นที่ที่มีบทบาทสำคัญในเชิงประวัติศาสตร์เมืองและโครงสร้างพื้นฐานด้านการคมนาคม งานวิจัยนี้มุ่งศึกษาศักยภาพของพื้นที่แนวรางรถไฟเก่าระหว่างสถานีกรุงเทพหัวลำโพงถึงสถานีกรุงเทพอภิวัฒน์ ซึ่งมีระยะทางประมาณ 5.8 กิโลเมตร และนำเสนอแนวทางการปรับเปลี่ยนพื้นที่ดังกล่าวให้เป็นสวนสาธารณะแนวยาว โดยใช้แนวคิดทางภูมิสถาปัตยกรรมที่บูรณาการการอนุรักษ์มรดกวัฒนธรรมเข้ากับการพัฒนาเมือง เพื่อสร้างสมดุลระหว่างการเก็บรักษาและการใช้ประโยชน์อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ การศึกษาแบ่งพื้นที่ออกเป็น 3 ช่วงตามลักษณะทางกายภาพของย่านและบริบทของการใช้ที่ดิน ได้แก่ (1) ช่วงใกล้เมืองเก่าและแหล่งการค้าเดิม (2) ช่วงใกล้พื้นที่วังและสวนสาธารณะ และ (3) ช่วงภายในชุมชนเมืองร่วมสมัยที่มีความหนาแน่นและพลวัตสูง การวิเคราะห์มิติทางประวัติศาสตร์ สังคม เศรษฐกิจ และสิ่งแวดล้อมแสดงให้เห็นว่า พื้นที่แนวรางรถไฟนี้มีศักยภาพสูงในการพัฒนาเป็นสวนสาธารณะ โดยสามารถ (1) เชื่อมโยงพื้นที่สำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์ วัฒนธรรม และย่านเมือง (2) สนับสนุนระบบการสัญจรในเมืองด้วยการเดินเท้าและจักรยาน และ (3) เพิ่มพื้นที่สีเขียวเพื่อยกระดับคุณภาพชีวิตและสิ่งแวดล้อมของชุมชนเมือง แนวทางการออกแบบที่เสนอยึดหลักการสำคัญสามประการ ได้แก่ (1) การอนุรักษ์คุณค่าของมรดกรถไฟในฐานะองค์ประกอบทางวัฒนธรรมและประวัติศาสตร์ (2) การออกแบบกิจกรรมและการใช้พื้นที่ที่ตอบสนองบริบทปัจจุบัน และ (3) การเชื่อมโยงเครือข่ายพื้นที่สีเขียวและการสัญจรของเมืองเข้าด้วยกันอย่างเป็นระบบ โดยภาพรวม แนวทางนี้สะท้อนบทบาทของภูมิสถาปัตยกรรมในการฟื้นฟูเมืองอย่างยั่งยืน และสามารถนำไปประยุกต์ใช้กับพื้นที่เขตทางรถไฟเก่าในบริบทอื่นของประเทศไทย เพื่อส่งเสริมการพัฒนาเมืองที่เคารพต่อมรดกและใช้ทรัพยากรอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ

The transition of shopping malls from retail-only establishments to multi facility or mix-use projects is indicative of the current trend toward more comprehensive, neighborhood-focused, and pedestrian friendly settings. Shopping malls can improve well-being by incorporating natural aspects (Anderson et al., 2016), although the widespread reliance on surface parking lots poses considerable environmental and economic issues (Evans et al., 2009). These issues encompass urban sprawl, congestion, diminished land values, and impaired walkability (Kille, 2020). “สวนสราญรมย์” เป็นสวนที่มีความเก่าแก่และประวัติศาสตร์ยาวนาน ปัจจุบัน (พ.ศ. 2567) สวนแห่งนี้ทำหน้าที่เป็นสวนสาธารณะเพื่อการพักผ่อนและการออกกำลังกาย แม้บริเวณที่ตั้งของพระราชวังสราญรมย์ได้รับการขึ้นทะเบียนเป็นโบราณสถานในปี พ.ศ. 2545 แต่สวนที่เคยเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของพระราชอุทยานยังไม่ได้รับการขึ้นทะเบียน ประกอบกับความเสื่อมโทรมขององค์ประกอบทางภูมิทัศน์วัฒนธรรมภายในสวน ส่งผลให้ความสำคัญในฐานะสวนประวัติศาสตร์กลับถูกละเลยงานวิจัยฉบับนี้จึงมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อชี้ให้เห็นคุณค่าของสวนสราญรมย์ในฐานะการเป็นสวนประวัติศาสตร์ ผ่านการศึกษาองค์ประกอบของภูมิทัศน์วัฒนธรรม โดยมุ่งเน้นการศึกษาเกี่ยวกับองค์ประกอบทางกายภาพ ในประเด็นของแผนผังและภูมิประเทศ โครงสร้างทางสถาปัตยกรรมและองค์ประกอบตกแต่ง และพืชพรรณ ทั้งนี้ยังได้พิจารณากิจกรรมการใช้งานของสวนควบคู่ไปด้วย โดยทำการทบทวนแนวคิด ทฤษฎีและงานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้อง พร้อมทั้งรวบรวมข้อมูลของพื้นที่ศึกษา เพื่อทำการวิเคราะห์และประเมินคุณค่าตามเกณฑ์ในกรอบแนวคิดของสวนประวัติศาสตร์สากลผลการศึกษาพบว่า แม้ว่าองค์ประกอบบางส่วนจะมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงไป แต่องค์ประกอบที่หลงเหลือยังสะท้อนถึงความเป็นสวนประวัติศาสตร์ของสวนสราญรมย์ องค์ประกอบทางกายภาพส่วนใหญ่มีสภาพทรุดโทรมและควรค่าแก่การอนุรักษ์ โดยมุ่งเน้นการเก็บรักษาสิ่งที่มีคุณค่าให้ได้มากที่สุด เพื่อคงไว้ซึ่งความเป็นเอกลักษณ์ของสวนที่ยังหลงเหลืออยู่ในปัจจุบัน นอกจากนี้ควรกำหนดกิจกรรมการใช้งานให้เหมาะสม เพื่อป้องกันไม่ให้ทำลายคุณค่าของสวนประวัติศาสตร์ และส่งเสริมกิจกรรมที่ทำให้สวนสราญรมย์เป็นแหล่งเรียนรู้ทางวัฒนธรรม งานวิจัยฉบับนี้จะช่วยสนับสนุนการดูแลและอนุรักษ์สวนสราญรมย์ รวมถึงการขึ้นทะเบียนโบราณสถานในอนาคต อีกทั้งยังช่วยสร้างความตระหนักรู้ให้กับประชาชนถึงความสำคัญของสวนประวัติศาสตร์ในประเทศไทย และเป็นประโยชน์ต่อการศึกษาสวนประวัติศาสตร์อื่น ๆ ต่อไป

Small to medium-sized irrigation systems in México are characterized in the literature as El Pequeño Riego. Some systems can be compared to those in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado, while others are significantly larger and more complex. Regardless of irrigated acres or hectáreas, however, there are many elements that are commonly shared across these regions. พื้นที่ชายฝั่งทะเลของจังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราชมีความโดดเด่นเเละมีศักยภาพสูงในการพัฒนาสำหรับการท่องเที่ยวเชิงกีฬาชายฝั่งทะเล อย่างไรก็ตาม การพัฒนาพื้นที่ดังกล่าวทั้งต้องพึ่งพาและส่งผลกระทบต่อระบบนิเวศชายฝั่งทะเล ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้จึงประยุกต์ใช้การวิเคราะห์ความเหมาะสมของพื้นที่ (suitability analysis) ด้วยวิธีการซ้อนทับชั้นข้อมูล (overlay method) เพื่อระบุพื้นที่ที่เหมาะสมสำหรับการพัฒนาเป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวเชิงกีฬาชายฝั่งทะเลประเภทกีฬาวอลเลย์บอลชายหาด โดยผลการวิจัยพบว่าพื้นที่ที่ไม่เหมาะสมสำหรับการพัฒนา ได้แก่ พื้นที่อ่อนไหวทางระบบนิเวศ พื้นที่อุตสาหกรรม พื้นที่ที่มีความเสี่ยงจากปัจจัยธรรมชาติ พื้นที่อนุรักษ์ และพื้นที่ที่เป็นถิ่นอาศัยของสัตว์ทะเลหายาก ส่วนพื้นที่ที่มีความเหมาะสมสำหรับการพัฒนาจะต้องมีคุณสมบัติที่เหมาะสมในด้านโครงสร้างพื้นฐาน ได้เเก่ การเข้าถึงที่สะดวก การมีที่พักและร้านอาหารที่หลากหลาย เเละมีจำนวนเพียงพอสำหรับนักท่องเที่ยว การมีสถานพยาบาลในระยะใกล้ เเละการมีพื้นที่บริเวณที่ติดชายหาดที่เพียงพอสำหรับเป็นพื้นที่จอดรถ ห้องน้ำ และสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกชั่วคราว รวมถึงสามารถเข้าถึงแหล่งท่องเที่ยวใกล้เคียงที่มีความหลากหลายเพื่อสร้างประสบการณ์การท่องเที่ยวที่หลากหลาย นอกจากนั้นยังมีความเหมาะสมในด้านปัจจัยทางกายภาพ ได้เเก่ มีความกว้างของหาดมากกว่า 25 เมตร ความลาดชันในระดับ 0-3 เปอร์เซ็นต์ ซึ่งเอื้อต่อการจัดการแข่งขันกีฬา ผิวหาดเเบบหาดทรายล้วน และทิศทางลมที่เหมาะสมต่อการเล่นวอลเลย์บอลชายหาด ซึ่งพบว่าพื้นที่ในหาดคอเขา หาดขนอม หาดหน้าด่าน หาดหัวถนน เเละหาดในเปร็ตเป็นพื้นที่ที่มีความเหมาะสมในระดับมากที่สุด ส่วนพื้นที่ที่มีความเหมาะสมในระดับรองลงมาคือหาดในเพลา หาดย่าปิ๋ว หาดปลายทอน หาดบางดี อ่าวท้องยาง หาดทุ่งใส เเละหาดเทพา
