Applying The Historic Urban Landscape Approach To The Identification Of Urban Heritage Attributes Of Bangkok's Old Town, Wimonrart Issarathumnoon

This article focuses on the study of the Historic Urban Landscape (HUL) approach from current international doctrines and analyses along with urban heritage conservation in Bangkok's historic area. The results indicate that the HUL approach helps develop conservation in Thailand from conserving tangible elements as separate objects to conserving and managing tangible and intangible attributes of the entire area by considering holistic values. The approach also helps identify the elements that characterize the area, particularly the character-defining elements of traditional communities, and, furthermore, it offers appropriate means for designing new elements in the area and supports collaborative works among various …

The objective of this study is to develop guidelines for thermal comfort and energy efficiency for senior centers during winter. The study was conducted in Phitsanulok, Thailand and it three methods were applied in development of the guidelines: field survey, laboratory study, and simulation in scSTREAM - a CFD program -- and Visual DOE 4.0 program. With a temperature set-point of 25.0 °C in the existing air-conditioned senior centers, the study shows that occupants feel "Slightly cool". These feelings change to "Neutral" when natural ventilation and fans are used to generate air speed of 0.57 - 0.60 m/s during the …

พื้นที่เมืองเก่าเป็นสถานที่ที่แสดงถึงอัตลักษณ์ที่สืบต่อกันมาอย่างยาวนานของประเทศไทยโดยเฉพาะงานสถาปัตยกรรม ที่ปัจจุบันเกิดความทรุดโทรมไปตามกาลเวลา การปรับปรุงสีอาคารเป็นวิธีการหนึ่งที่ทำได้ง่ายและใช้งบประมาณน้อยกว่าวิธีอื่น ซึ่งการเลือกใช้สีและวัสดุให้มีความเหมาะสมนั้นเป็นสิ่งสำคัญ งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาและรวบรวมชุดสีองค์ประกอบทางสถาปัตยกรรมของอาคารพาณิชย์ที่แสดงถึงอัตลักษณ์และลักษณะความกลมกลืนทางด้านสีของพื้นที่เมืองเก่าสงขลา โดยเก็บข้อมูลด้วยระบบดิจิตอลจากภาพถ่ายอาคารผ่านโปรแกรม Adobe Photoshop CS6 เพื่อหาค่าความถี่ของสีจากอาคารจำนวน 523 หลัง บนถนนหลักทั้ง 3 เส้นของเมืองเก่าสงขลา ผลแสดงให้เห็นว่าสีเทา สีขาวและสีน้ำตาล เป็นสีที่มีการใช้ในองค์ประกอบอาคารมากที่สุด โดยเมื่อนำมาวิเคราะห์ร่วมกับสถานที่สำคัญในพื้นที่ทำให้ทราบถึงชุดสีที่แสดงถึงอัตลักษณ์ ได้แก่ สีขาว สีเทาอ่อนที่มีการเจือด้วยสีฟ้า สีเทากลางและสีแดง นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่าค่าความสดของสีอาคารส่วนใหญ่อยู่ในช่วงร้อยละ 0-20 มีค่าความสว่างของสีอยู่ในช่วงกว้างตั้งแต่ร้อยละ 21-100 และชุดสีที่มีการใช้มากที่สุดคือการใช้สีเดียว (Monochrome) การใช้สีคู่ตรงข้าม (Complementary) และการใช้สีที่อยู่ใกล้เคียงกัน (Analogous) ตามลำดับ งานวิจัยนี้ได้ผนวกทิศทางของแสงและตำแหน่งอาคารมาใช้ร่วมกับการเก็บค่าสีอาคาร โดยช่วยให้ได้ค่าสีที่มีความใกล้เคียงกับสีอาคารในภาพถ่ายมากขึ้น และยังเป็นแนวทางในการเลือกใช้สีให้กับเจ้าของอาคารและหน่วยงานที่ต้องการส่งเสริมภาพลักษณ์ในพื้นที่ ในท้ายที่สุดงานวิจัยชิ้นนี้ได้เสนอให้มีการเก็บค่าสีจากมุมสูงของพื้นที่ และการวิเคราะห์ค่าสีและค่าความสดของสี ร่วมกับทิศทางของแสงและตำแหน่งอาคารอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ

This article presents the latest improvements in a recently developed nondestructive testing (NDT) approach for early detection of various flaws (corrosion, delamination, and concrete cracking) in reinforced concrete (RC) bridge decks. The proposed method involves the use of internal steel reinforcement as a wave guide for transmitting ultrasonic waves through the system and the measurement of leaked energy from the surface of the concrete. Uncertainties about construction cost and operational revenues are two major risks in transportation public-private partnership (P3) projects. These uncertainties put projects at risk of being unable to fulfill annual debt repayment obligations. When a project generates insufficient cash flow to service the debt in a certain year, it normally has to go for short-term financing by borrowing short-term loans. Bayview Hunters Point is at the epicenter of environmental justice issues in San Francisco. The district has historically been the location of the city’s most polluting industries, as well as some of its poorest residents and its greatest concentration of public housing. This work investigates the benefits of performing Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) using Building Information Modelling (BIM) techniques on a case study management process. This provides insights for reducing the environmental impacts of building materials and elements along the life cycle of a concrete residential project in Egypt. The study follows the LCA ISO 14040 and 14044 guidelines, local materials database, Revit modelling and One-Click LCA plugin. ไม้ประกับกาวเป็นเทคโนโลยีที่เข้ามาเพื่อทดแทนความต้องการไม้หน้ากว้าง ซึ่งมีจำนวนทรัพยากรลดน้อยลง ประเทศไทยยังคงมีการพัฒนาไม้ประกับกาวในรูปแบบ "Glued laminated timber" ตั้งแต่ ค.ศ.1971 จนถึงปัจจุบัน ซึ่งเป็นการนำไม้มาเรียงต่อกันเป็นชั้นในทิศทางเดียว เพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพความแข็งแรงในการนำมาใช้เป็นโครงสร้าง นอกจากทรัพยากรไม้ในพื้นที่ป่าเบญจพรรณในประเทศไทย ยังมี "ไผ่" ซึ่งถือวัสดุทางเลือกที่คนให้ความสนใจในหลายมิติ การนำไผ่มาใช้สามารถเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพความแข็งแรงของไม้ประกับกาว รวมถึงเป็นการทดแทนอัตราการใช้ไม้ในระบบป่าอุตสาหกรรมให้เกิดความเพียงพอต่อจำนวนทรัพยากรในประเทศไทย วิทยานิพนธ์เล่มนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อศึกษาคุณสมบัติเชิงกลของวัสดุผสมไม้ไผ่ประกับกาวและไม้ยางพารา ขนาด 2x4 นิ้ว 2) เพื่อสร้างต้นแบบวัสดุผสมไม้ไผ่ประกับกาวและไม้ยางพารา ขนาด 2x4 นิ้ว 3) เพื่อสรุปแนวทางมาตรฐานวัสดุผสมไม้ไผ่ประกับกาวและไม้ยางพารา ขนาด 2x4 นิ้ว ซึ่งมีกระบวนการวิจัยดังนี้ 1) ศึกษาพัฒนาการไม้ประกับกาว และไม้อัดประสาน ในระดับนานาชาติ และในประเทศไทย 2) ศึกษาคุณสมบัติเชิงกลของไม้ไผ่ประกับกาวและไม้ยางพาราวัสดุผสม สำหรับหน่วยพักอาศัยด้วยวิธีการทดสอบในห้องทดลอง และกระบวนการวิเคราะห์ "Finite elements analysis" 3) ประยุกต์ใช้วัสดุผสมไม้ไผ่และไม้ยางพาราประกับกาว 2x4 นิ้ว เป็นต้นแบบโครงสร้างใหม่สำหรับหน่วยพักอาศัย แบบ 1 ชั้น ขนาดพื้นที่ 24 ตารางเมตร หน้ากว้างอาคาร 5.00 เมตร ลึก 4.80 เมตร จากการศึกษาพบว่าวัสดุผสมไม้ไผ่ประกับกาวและไม้ยางพารา ขนาด 2x4 นิ้ว สามารถใช้เป็นโครงสร้างทดแทนไม้ยางพาราประกับกาวขนาด 2x6 นิ้ว ในรูปแบบการก่อสร้างแบบเดิม ในส่วนของตงพื้น แม้ว่าคุณสมบัติของไม้ยางพาราจะมีระยะยุบตัวน้อยกว่าวัสดุผสมไม้ไผ่ประกับกาวและไม้ยางพารา 0.33141 mm. หรือคิดเป็น 27.96 % รูปแบบวัสดุผสมไม้ไผ่และไม้ยางพาราประกับกาวที่สอดคล้องกับระบบอุตสาหกรรมไม้ในประเทศไทย การก่อสร้างหน่วยพักอาศัยด้วยวัสดุผสมไม้ไผ่และไม้ยางพาราประกับกาวพบว่ารูปแบบโครงสร้างที่ใช้วัสดุผสมไม้ไผ่และไม้ยางพาราประกับกาว สามารถลดส่วนประกอบของอาคารได้แก่ การใช้ผนังรับน้ำหนักแทนเสา การลดส่วนประกอบของหลังคาในขณะที่ยังสามารถสนับสนุนการรับน้ำหนักวัสดุมุงหลังคาได้ รูปแบบโครงสร้างวัสดุผสมไม้ไผ่และไม้ยางพาราประกับกาวสำหรับหน่วยพักอาศัย ยังสามารถลดปริมาณไม้จากที่ใช้ไม้คิดเป็นปริมาตรไม้จาก 72.44 ลูกบาศก์ฟุต เหลือเพียง 46.40 ลูกบาศก์ฟุต และลดระยะเวลาในการก่อสร้างหน่วยพักอาศัยได้ 20% เมื่อเทียบกับรูปแบบการก่อสร้างแบบเดิม
