Resection And Reconstruction Of Ewing Sarcoma Of The Cuboid Utilizing Vascularized Fibular Autograft: A Case Report, Brandon Cunha, Alexandre Arkader

Ewing Sarcoma (EWS) rarely presents in the bones of the foot, and particularly in the cuboid, making it an exceedingly rare occurrence. We present the case of a 7-year-old female diagnosed with EWS of the right cuboid, detailing the management and outcomes of this rare presentation. The patient, now almost 5 years post-initial local control, exhibits restored foot function, a normalized gait, and no evidence of disease recurrence. This case underscores the potential for preserving lower extremity function and improving postoperative quality of life in rare presentations of EWS through innovative reconstruction strategies.

Venous thromboembolism (VTE), including both deep venous thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), is a major complication of musculoskeletal surgery in general, and the risk is heightened in musculoskeletal oncology surgery. Despite the well-known association between cancer and VTE, the mechanism promoting this pathology is not entirely well understood. It is estimated that nearly all cancer patients will experience from some form of VTE, whether or not clinically relevant, during the course of their disease. Nonetheless, numerous studies have analyzed the occurrence and prevention of VTE in patients with cardiovascular disease or suffering trauma, but very few have specifically …

Langerhans cells are dendritic cells that form the antigenic barrier of the human body. They occur in nearly any tissue but are most prevalent in the skin, submucosa of the bronchial tree, and other mucosae. Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH) develops when these cells damage the tissues in which they reside through a combination of inflammatory and monoclonal stimulation. Methodology: All patients with Primary lymphoma of bone (PLB) that were diagnosed and/or treated at Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi from 2005 to 2019 were included as part of this study.

Methodology: A retrospective study was conducted in the department of Orthopaedics Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi. All the paediatric and adult age group patients diagnosed with malignant, benign and metastatic bone tumours and meeting the inclusion criteria were selected and analysed. Retrospective data was collected from January 2008-January 2018.
