Background/aim: Fibromyalgia (FM) patients may have several neuroendocrine dysfunctions, resulting in a hypervigilant sensory output that may be responsible for sensorineural complaints. In this study, we evaluated the audiological findings of a cohort of female fibromyalgia patients. Materials and methods: Between 1 September 2012 and 1 June 2013, 35 female FM patients, followed by the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Faculty of Medicine, Bozok University, were recruited for the study. Background/aim: Nasal polyposis is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting the paranasal sinuses and nasal mucosae. It is thought that genetic and molecular mechanisms in inflammatory and apoptotic pathways are the main factors in the etiopathogenesis of nasal polyposis. Background/aim: We evaluated the relations of the exiting points of supratrochlear (STN), supraorbital (SON), and zygomaticotemporal (ZTN) nerves with certain landmarks to provide improved anatomic knowledge. Materials and methods: The twenty-eight hemifaces of 5 fresh frozen and 11 embalmed heads (5 female and 11 male cadavers) were dissected. Distance and angular measurements were made between the exiting points of the nerves to the midline, lateral, and medial canthi. Human leukocyte antigen-G (HLA-G) is a nonclassic HLA class I molecule. Recent studies suggested a relationship between HLA-G positivity and the stage or the phenotype of the malignancy. We aimed to investigate the current prevalence of H. pylori, as well as its potential serum risk factors, in a population from southwest China.Materials and methods: This cross-sectional study included 10,912 subjects who received medical examinations at the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University in 2014. Data regarding physical examinations and biochemical measurements were collected, and H. pylori infection was diagnosed with a 13C-urea breath test. Background/aim: This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of ultrasound (US)-guided injection versus blind injection of corticosteroids in the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). Materials and methods: This prospective, randomized clinical trial included patients with severe CTS based on clinical and electrophysiological criteria. The patients were evaluated for clinical and electrophysiological parameters at baseline and 4 weeks after treatment. Symptom severity and hand function were assessed by the Boston questionnaire. Background/aim: The aim of the study was to evaluate the serum concentration of main chemokines and interferons in patients with diagnosed endometriosis. Materials and methods: A total of 160 women were divided in two study groups (group 1 - endometriosis; group 2 - healthy women). Materials and methods: We reviewed the patients who were operated at our institution between July 2007 and March 2015 with the diagnosis of EC.
