In this paper; it was carried out to determine the withdrawal strength of some screws and nails of WFB, picea and oriental beech that are using at furniture product. For this reason, it was applied the withdrawal strength of experimental specimens with different screws and nails. According to the result of experiments, it was obtained the highest withdrawal strength result of oriental beech whose face perpendicular to screw 20x35 (17,670 N/mm^2). It was obtained the highest withdrawal strength result of picea whose face parellel to nails such as 16x30 (6,920 N/mm^2).

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

In this research, the seasonal variation in total phenolic contents in hazelnut and chestnut leaves and shoots was determined. In addition, the phenolic compounds extracted by aqueous alcohol or obtained by acid hydrolysis of the leaves and shoots were separated by paper chromatography (PC). The total phenolic contents of the chestnut leaves and shoots were higher than the hazelnut. In both species, the young shoots had higher total phenolic contents than one year old shoots. The total phenolic content of hazelnut leaves did not show a significant variation, but it rose up to a relatively higher level in August and …

This study was conducted to determine the number and morphological features of somatic chromosomes of yellow bluestem (Bothriochloa ischaemum (L) Keng) dominated in natural maqui type range vegetation of Çukurova region. The results showed that 39 out of the 40 ekotypes had 2n=60 and only one had 2n=50 chromosomes. It was determined that all the chromosomes of yellow bluestem were metacentrich and their lengths ranged from 1.3006 \mum to 3.1294 \mum. The cytotype with 2n=50 had two pairs of chromosomes with satellite and the cytotype with 2n=60 had three pairs of chromosomes with satellite.

It has been determined that there is an inverse relationship between the crop losses ratio and the distance from the pollution sources. The minimum value of damages to environment caused by TÜGSAS and KBI is …

This study was carried out from 1991 to 1993, in Van province (Erciş, Edremit, Gevaş), which aimed to find out the population fluctations, some biological characteristics and natural enemies of L. ulmi and P. bituberculatum harmfull to apple trees. Samples were collected periodically every 15 day from 7 trees (Starting variety) in every orchard determined in Gevaş, Edremit and Erciş. All the biological stages, either alive or death, of pests, parasitized individuals and natural enemies were counted on the branches or leaves infested. According to the results obtained, it was determined that L. ulmi and P. bituberculatum overwintered as egg …
