This paper sheds light on how Taiwanese egg donors and recruitment agencies engage with the transnational fertility industry. Taiwan, as a popular sending country of Asian ethnic egg donors to the US, has fostered a vibrant digital community consisting of egg donation agencies, agents, and previous and intended donors. Recruitment agencies employ social media to recruit donors by constructing carefree, easy, and highly rewarded narratives of cross-border donation trips. Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a neuropsychiatric disorder characterized by uncontrollable, intrusive thoughts (obsessions), restlessness, and repetitive behaviors (compulsions). One of the genes associated with OCD encodes the neuronal glutamate transporter EAAC1. EAAC1 is expressed in the striatum, the main input nucleus of the basal ganglia, implicated with reward, which shows patterns of hyperactivity in patients with OCD. What remains unknown is how EAAC1 contributes to the different behavioral abnormalities of OCD. To address this question, we performed a set of behavioral tests in EAAC1-/- mice. In this paper, the effect of specific capital discipline policies, capital structure and capital expenditures, is measured. Financial data from 2014 to 2022 are used to measure the impact of capital discipline policies on market cap. Capital structure measured through the debt-to-equity ratio and capital expenditures were both regressed against market cap to determine correlation. The regressions were sorted according to correlation strength and then grouped based off certain firm characteristics: Market cap, Resource produced, Geographical diversity, and level of integration. The possible fallibility of forensic methods has been under scrutiny for over a decade. Left out of the initial reviews were methods within forensic anthropology. A literature review was conducted to examine modern methods in determining the biological sex of human skeleton remains and their associated error rates in making a correct determination. Results showed no significant correlation between the number of traits being considered the subsequent error rate in determining sex. The Federal Election Commission (FEC) is known for its dysfunction: political gridlock, insufficient funding, and vacancies that hinder enforcement of campaign finance law. This study suggests the root of the problem lies in the agency’s character as a bipartisan institution, and proposes a nonpartisan reframing. This research offers statistical analysis of Supreme Court justice confirmation votes to inform a theory-based restructure of the FEC. The Court’s confirmation process has historically utilized a supermajority cloture vote, however, that threshold was lowered to a simple majority in 2017. In this paper, the returns of mutual funds invested in emerging markets and the returns of emerging market ETFs are measured. The rates of returns of 133 emerging market mutual funds are taken from the PSN network and the return, risk, and diversification are evaluated for the emerging market mutual funds. The findings are that Southeast Asian countries dominate the proportion of investments for emerging markets. Of the countries invested in, China is the primary country invested in by a large margin. Epitope mapping a protein that enables pathogenesis is crucial for the development of therapies and prophylactics that can inhibit the pathogen’s function and its transmission of disease. The lipoprotein OspA enables Lyme Disease etiologic pathogen, Borrelia burgdorferi, to inhabit the tick midgut until transmission occurs. Anti-OspA mAbs and their smaller VHH counterparts are highly specific and tailored to bind proteins such as OspA, reproducibly, at established binding sites or epitopes. Operational forecasters face a plethora of challenges when making a forecast; they must consider multiple data sources ranging from radar and satellites to surface and upper air observations, to numerical weather prediction output. Forecasts must be done in a limited window of time, which adds an additional layer of difficulty to the task. These challenges are exacerbated by winter mixed precipitation events where slight differences in thermodynamic profiles or changes in terrain create different precipitation types across small areas. In addition to being difficult to forecast, mixed precipitation events can have large-scale impacts on our society.

Since its introduction, the amine-thiol cosolvent system has been successfully utilized for the deposition of various thin-film devices, but its mechanism of action is still uncertain. Herein, we have attempted to dissect some of the chemical characteristics of amine-thiol cosolvents, with a special interest taken towards a mixture of ethylenediamine (en) and mercaptoethanol (ME). Conductivity was measured for multiple amine-thiol combinations at different ratios to determine extent of ionization in solution, with en-ME having one of the highest solution conductivities. Exposing the solution to air for several days was found to decrease the conductivity of en-ME, indicating the formation of …
