Georgetown Independent School District (GISD) has proposed the Parkside School Tract project where school facilities will be constructed southwest of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas. GISD retained Terracon Consultants, Inc. to conduct a systematic, intensive pedestrian survey of the approximate 18.3-acre project area. Because GISD, a political subdivision of the State of Texas, sponsored the project, the proposed undertaking is subject to compliance with the Antiquities Code of Texas and oversight from the Texas Historical Commission (THC). (RKI), was contracted by the Fort Bend Independent School District (FBISD) (CLIENT) to conduct archaeological investigations for approximately 7.31-acres located near Arcola, Fort Bend County, Texas, that is proposed to be developed with a high school campus (Figure 1-1). BOB Hydrographics, LLC (BOB) conducted an underwater archaeological survey for a proposed barge fleeting area on Buffalo Bayou in Harris County, Texas. Pertinacity Harbor and Marine Services, LLC funded this study. Schneider Engineering and Consulting, Inc. of Galveston, Texas subcontracted with BOB to conduct this archaeological assessment. The survey spans portions of State Mineral Lease Tracts B and B1 downstream from the East Beltway 8 Bridge in Pasadena. (AmaTerra) conducted two phases of an intensive survey at Stinson Municipal Airport in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. Specific dates of field survey were July 18–22, 2016 (Phase 1 of survey), December 11–13, 2017 (Phase 2 of survey, geophysical investigation), and January 15, 2018–February 1, 2018 (Phase 2 of survey). Initially, the proposed project included the construction of an extensive multi-purpose facility that would house the METRO Police Department, a back-up Emergency Operations Center, and Maintenance of Way (MOW) department. Work was conducted on behalf of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Environmental Affairs Division, under contract number 577XXSA001 (Work Authorization 57715SA001) and Texas Antiquities permit number 8585. Site 41SR459 was located during an archeological survey for the proposed construction of a new roadway, State Loop 195, and is located north of US-83 within Starr County, Texas.
