This dissertation is aimed to discuss the relationship change between east and southeast Asian countries and advanced economies, especially focus on the export and import changes before and after 2008. This study uses both econometrics model (fixed effect, first difference effect, difference-in-difference model) and social network models to analyze the impact of the 2008 financial crisis on these Asian countries and advanced economies. The results show that after 2008 the impact of exports with advanced economies on GDP per capita growth has changed from negative to positive, while the impact of imports with advanced economies on GDP per capita growth …

This dissertation examines the global adoption of cryptocurrency, challenging the broad narrative that it would fundamentally revolutionize finance through decentralization, depoliticization, and democratization. Despite not fully delivering on these transformative promises, cryptocurrencies have continued to gain traction. Human trafficking appears in many forms and affects millions of people every year. In addition to the direct consequences of human trafficking, the crime violates international laws and universally recognized human rights while providing a lucrative revenue source for criminals. Thousands of American soldiers have lost their lives in the failed wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, and beyond—and the death toll among civilians is in the millions. The field of “transitional justice” refers to a range of processes and mechanisms for accountability, truth-seeking, and reconciliation that governments and communities pursue in the aftermath of major societal traumas, including civil war, mass atrocities, and authoritarianism. This relatively new field emerged in the 1980s as scholars, practitioners, and policymakers looked for guidance to support post-authoritarian and post-communist transitions to democracy in Eastern Europe and Latin America. Since then, the field has grown rapidly—so rapidly that it is outpacing its capacity to learn from past mistakes. In the preamble of the 2024 presidential election seasons in both the United States and Mexico, there has been an increase in aggressive outspoken expression by national leaders regarding how to best handle the issue of drugs and drug use across the Western hemisphere. Proposed regulations for alcohol advertising prevent beverage companies from targeting people under the legal drinking age. However, similar regulations for alcohol alternative beverages are less explored, which could allow alcohol alternative products to create awareness for alcoholic beverages among youth. สารนิพนธ์ฉบับนี้ศึกษาบทบาทที่มิใช่การรบของกองทัพเรือไทย โดยเฉพาะในด้านการช่วยเหลือด้านมนุษยธรรมและการบรรเทาสาธารณภัย ซึ่งมีความสำคัญเพิ่มมากขึ้นในบริบทของภัยคุกคามรูปแบบใหม่ เช่น ภัยธรรมชาติ ความมั่นคงด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม และความมั่นคงมนุษย์ การศึกษานี้มุ่งวิเคราะห์ยุทธศาสตร์ กลไกการจัดการ และบทบาทของกองทัพเรือผ่านกรอบแนวคิดทฤษฎีสถาบันเสรีนิยมใหม่ (Neoliberal Institutionalism) ที่เน้นความร่วมมือระหว่างรัฐและบทบาทของสถาบันระหว่างประเทศในการสร้างระเบียบและข้อตกลงร่วม งานวิจัยใช้ระเบียบวิธีเชิงคุณภาพผ่านการศึกษาข้อมูลจากเอกสารและแหล่งข้อมูลต่างประเทศและในประเทศ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า กองทัพเรือไทยได้พัฒนากลไกการจัดการ เช่น ศูนย์บรรเทาสาธารณภัยกองทัพเรือ และเข้าร่วมการฝึกร่วมระดับภูมิภาคและระดับโลก เช่น การฝึก Cobra Gold, Blue Strike และ Pacific Partnership ตลอดจนมีการส่งกำลังช่วยเหลือในเหตุการณ์สำคัญทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศ เช่น สึนามิปี พ.ศ.2547 และภารกิจในประเทศอินโดนีเซีย การศึกษาชี้ให้เห็นว่ากองทัพเรือไทยไม่เพียงแต่ตอบสนองต่อภารกิจความมั่นคงในรูปแบบดั้งเดิมเท่านั้น แต่ยังมีบทบาทสำคัญในความมั่นคงยุคใหม่ ที่เน้นความร่วมมือระดับภูมิภาคและสากล เพื่อรองรับภัยคุกคามที่ซับซ้อนและขยายตัวมากขึ้น

หัวข้อวิจัยนี้มีเป้าหมายเพื่อศึกษาผลกระทบของนโยบายฟรีวีซ่าต่อความมั่นคงของประเทศไทย โดยมุ่งเน้นที่ความเสี่ยงเชิงความมั่นคงที่เกิดขึ้นควบคู่กับความพยายามในการฟื้นฟูเศรษฐกิจผ่านการท่องเที่ยว ในปี พ.ศ.2557 จนถึงปัจจุบันที่ประเทศไทยดำเนินนโยบายฟรีวีซ่ากับหลายประเทศเพื่อดึงดูดนักท่องเที่ยว การศึกษานี้เริ่มต้นจากการสำรวจพัฒนาการของนโยบายส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวตั้งแต่แคมเปญ Amazing Thailand จนถึงนโยบายฟรีวีซ่าล่าสุด โดยมุ่งวิเคราะห์ความท้าทายในการสร้างสมดุลระหว่างการเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจกับการรักษาความมั่นคงของรัฐพร้อมทั้งเปรียบเทียบกับกรณีศึกษาจากต่างประเทศ เช่น สหรัฐอเมริกา ที่เคยประสบปัญหาความมั่นคงจากการเปิดพรมแดนแบบไร้เงื่อนไขจากการศึกษา พบว่าแม้การใช้ฟรีวีซ่าจะช่วยเพิ่มจำนวนนักท่องเที่ยวและสร้างรายได้ในระยะสั้น แต่หากไม่มีโครงสร้างรองรับที่เพียงพอ เช่น ระบบประเมินความเสี่ยงล่วงหน้า ฐานข้อมูลร่วม หรือกลไกติดตามหลังการเข้าเมือง ก็อาจกลายเป็นช่องว่างที่เปิดโอกาสให้เกิดอาชญากรรมข้ามชาติการประกอบธุรกิจผิดกฎหมาย การใช้วีซ่าผิดประเภท หรือการตั้งถิ่นฐานแบบผิดกฎ ซึ่งล้วนเป็นความท้าทายใหม่ในมิติความมั่นคง ผลการวิจัยชี้ว่า ปัญหาหลักไม่ได้อยู่ที่ตัวนโยบายฟรีวีซ่า แต่เกิดจากความไม่สอดคล้องกันของหน่วยงานภาครัฐและข้อจำกัดด้านศักยภาพของกลไกสนับสนุนภายในประเทศ ดังนั้น แนวทางที่เหมาะสมคือการพัฒนาเครื่องมือเชิงนโยบาย เช่น ระบบข้อมูลร่วม ระบบติดตามที่มีประสิทธิภาพ และการวัดคุณภาพนักท่องเที่ยวควบคู่ไปกับการสร้างความร่วมมือกับประเทศต้นทาง เพื่อลดความเสี่ยงและเสริมความยั่งยืนให้นโยบายฟรีวีซ่าในบริบทของประเทศไทย

Combining the lens of the political economic theories of Racial Capitalism and the Precariat, and applying them to a historical analysis of the US immigration system and its modern implications in US States, we are better able to understand to manner in which the immigration regime works to provide a cheap, exploitable labor force for US industry elites. This thesis examines the use of violent repression by dictators and the ways in which that violence is remembered, particularly through the lenses of literature and film. The first chapter will deal with the questions of when dictators choose to use violence as opposed to other forms of repression and against whom the violence is used. วิทยานิพนธ์นี้เป็นการศึกษาผลประโยชน์แห่งชาติจากคลองไทยภายใต้แนวคิดสมุททานุภาพของมาฮาน โดยการวิจัยเอกสารและวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลจากทฤษฎีสมุททานุภาพของมาฮาน ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ผลประโยชน์แห่งชาติจากคลองไทยตามทฤษฎีสมุททานุภาพของมาฮาน ประกอบด้วย (1) ผลประโยชน์ด้านเศรษฐกิจ (2) ผลประโยชน์ด้านความมั่นคง ซึ่งเป็นผลประโยชน์ที่มีแนวโน้มเป็นวัตถุประสงค์ที่แท้จริงในการขุดคลองไทย และ (3) ผลประโยชน์ด้านความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศ ช่วยผลักดันให้ประเทศไทยสามารถยกระดับสถานะกลายเป็นมหาอำนาจระดับภูมิภาคได้ โดยมีคลองไทยเป็นเครื่องมือต่อรองกับมหาอำนาจของโลก สอดคล้องกับแนวคิดของมาฮานที่เชื่อว่าระบบระหว่างประเทศเป็นการต่อสู้เพื่อได้มาซึ่งการครอบครองผลประโยชน์ทางการเมือง เศรษฐกิจ และดินแดน โดยใช้กำลังทางบกและทะเล ขณะเดียวกัน คลองไทยที่ได้รับอิทธิพลจากระบบระหว่างประเทศกลับมีบทบาทต่อการเสริมสร้างสมุททานุภาพแก่ตัวแสดงที่เป็นรัฐในระบบระหว่างประเทศเช่นกัน โดยอยู่ในลักษณะการมอบผลประโยชน์เพื่อสร้างความได้เปรียบทางภูมิรัฐศาสตร์โดยตรงและการเป็นปัจจัยผลักดันให้พัฒนาศักยภาพเพื่อแข่งขันกับรัฐคู่แข่งที่อาศัยผลประโยชน์จากคลองไทย อย่างไรก็ตาม สมุททานุภาพของมาฮานมีข้อจำกัดในการอธิบาย ผู้วิจัยจึงพัฒนาแนวคิดสมุททานุภาพใหม่ให้มีความร่วมสมัยสอดคล้องกับบริบทโลกปัจจุบันและสอดคล้องกับบริบทของประเทศไทยมากยิ่งขึ้น

ปัจจุบันจีนได้ดำเนินนโยบายต่างประเทศที่มีลักษณะเชิงรุกและมั่นใจมากขึ้นในประเด็น อาณาเขต ซึ่งนักวิชาการจำนวนมากมองว่าเป็นผลจากกระแสชาตินิยมที่ทวีความเข้มข้นขึ้น วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการทำงานของชาตินิยมจีนและผลกระทบที่มีต่อ นโยบายและพฤติกรรมของรัฐบาลภายใต้การนำของประธานาธิบดีสี จิ้นผิง ในกรณีข้อพิพาทหมู่ เกาะเตียวหยู/เซ็งกากุ ผู้เขียนใช้กรอบแนวคิดสัจนิยมคลาสสิกใหม่ โดยถือชาตินิยมเป็นตัวแปร ภายในประเทศ และนำมาวิเคราะห์นโยบายของจีนภายใต้บริบทที่แตกต่างกัน ผลการศึกษาพบว่า แรงกดดันจากกระแสชาตินิยมมีบทบาทสำคัญในการผลักดันให้จีนดำเนินนโยบายที่แข็งกร้าวมาก ขึ้นต่อประเด็นหมู่เกาะเตียวหยู อย่างไรก็ตาม อิทธิพลของชาตินิยมยังคงถูกจำกัดโดยปัจจัยเชิง โครงสร้างและบริบทภายในประเทศ ส่งผลให้รัฐบาลภายใต้การนำของสี จิ้นผิงมิได้ดำเนินนโยบาย ชาตินิยมอย่างสุดโต่ง หากแต่แสดงให้เห็นถึงความพยายามสร้างสมดุลระหว่างการตอบสนองต่อ แรงกดดันจากกระแสชาตินิยมภายในประเทศกับการจัดการความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศ วิทยานิพนธ์นี้ได้นำเสนอกรอบการวิเคราะห์ที่ช่วยให้เข้าใจพลวัตของปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างชาตินิยม กับความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศได้อย่างเป็นระบบ
