Self-reflection has been linked with clinical reasoning, academic, and clinical outcomes. The purpose of this study was to examine self-reflective journal entries from thirty students for interprofessional core competencies and for self-regulated learning components. The text data was analyzed using an in-depth three cycle coding process, thoroughly described in the methods. The findings were structured into two themes confirming interprofessional content learning: collaboration, team, and communication; and respect and roles. One additional theme emerged, transformation and relatedness, which indicated self-regulated learning components as well as supporting transformative learning. The Occupation-Centered Intervention Assessment (OCIA) was created to assist occupational therapy practitioners and students to apply knowledge of the core theoretical constructs of occupation from didactic education to clinical practice. This study investigated how the OCIA influenced students’ professional reasoning and supported students’ transition from academic education to clinical practice during fieldwork. Using an inductive qualitative approach, researchers analyzed master’s level students’ (n=61) reflection on using the OCIA to analyze an intervention they had reported providing during fieldwork. While student-run free clinic (SRFC) participation is well-documented among many health professions, no study has comprehensively characterized occupational therapy student participation. The purpose of this qualitative study was to understand both the current presence as well as educational impact of occupational therapy student participation in university-based SRFCs in the United States (U.S). Data collection occurred through a national survey and semi-structured interviews. Surveys were sent to representatives (e.g. program directors, faculty advisors, and student leaders) at all 190 accredited occupational therapy schools. Fieldwork (FW) plays a crucial role in occupational therapy (OT) education by fostering students to become competent entry-level practitioners. Reflective journaling promotes increased competence in OT FW students. The Kawa Model can be used as a journaling framework that uses metaphorical illustrations to self-reflect. It has been described as useful in multiple contexts. No study has yet investigated the use of the Kawa Model as a self-reflection tool with OT FW students. Given the high levels of stress in college students and its impact on academic achievement, a purposefully designed curriculum-based mindfulness stress reduction program was implemented for entry-level occupational therapy students to support student mental health. The small-scale, seven-week study, used a combination of mindfulness-based stress reduction strategies, including a meditative technique known as inquiry-based stress reduction (IBSR), and coping strategies using the Occupational Performance Coaching Model to help students cope with their stress levels. However, there is limited research on the outcomes of graduates of hybrid programs. This systematic review sought to update a prior review and identify the current physical performance tests (PPT) that are used to determine return to sport (RTS) readiness in competitive athletes following musculoskeletal foot and ankle pathology. Methods The PubMed, CINHAL, and SPORTDiscus databases were systematically searched for articles using keywords related to PPT, RTS, and foot and ankle injuries. The quality of the included studies was evaluated using the risk of bias (RoB) tools proposed by the CLARITY from the McMaster University of Health Sciences.

Purpose: To describe and explore carer quality of life (QoL) and night-time attendance to their child in parents of non-ambulant youth with Neuromuscular Disorders.
Methods: A cross-sectional population-based, comprehensive survey including the Adult Carer QoL (ACQoL) questionnaire, measures of social context and youths’ physical status. Associations between carerQoL or frequency of parents’ night-time attendance with independent variables were explored using linear and logistic regression models, respectively.

Self-employment is a viable option to increase the quality of life and well-being of people with disabilities. People with disabilities are also twice as likely to be self-employed than those in the general population. While self-employment interest and activity among people with disabilities has remained constant over the past three decades, vocational rehabilitation counselors rarely use self-employment as a closure option. Adequate work behavior can increase job retention and job satisfaction for employees with disabilities. Employment modification strategies are practicable tools to address challenging work behavior negatively affecting employment of individuals with disabilities in rural areas. The purpose of this study was to conduct a phenomenological qualitative study of prevocational rehabilitation professionals in a focus group concerning rehabilitation services and training needs for rural vocational services for people with disabilities. The purpose of this study was to investigate the perceived factors that occupational and physical therapy graduate students believed led to success in a clinical neuroscience course. A cross-sectional survey design was utilized from a convenience sample of Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) and Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students. There were 76 (42%) responses collected, comprised of 62 (82%) OTD students and 14 (18%) DPT students. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze all survey results.
