Depression is a mood disorder that is a significant risk factor for suicidal behaviors (SB). This study aimed to explore the influence of the potential factors of depression, encompassing adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), negative life events (NLEs), rumination, neuroticism, and the immune-inflammatory and nitro-oxidative (IO&NS) biomarkers on the severity of depression and SB among young adults. The Causal Relationships Of Work-Life Balance, Psychological Well-Being, Burnout, And Related Factors Among Public Secondary School Teachers In Bangkok: A Mixed-Method Research, Gunchanon Khawda

This study is a parallel mixed-method research, consisting of quantitative and qualitative studies. The objective is to examine the causal relationships among work-life balance, psychological well-being, burnout, emotional intelligence, emotion regulation, and psychological capital among public secondary school teachers in Bangkok. The quantitative results revealed that the study comprised 436 teachers, with an average age of 35.12 years old (SD = 9.56). The structural equation modeling analysis found that the model fit the empirical data (Chi-square = 348.89, df = 172, p < 0.001, Chi-square/df = 2.03, RMSEA = 0.05, GFI = 0.93, AGFI = 0.91, CFI = 0.97). Emotional intelligence had a significant positive effect on work-life balance (Beta = 0.43, p = 0.002) and psychological well-being (Beta = 0.29, p = 0.001). Psychological capital also had a significant positive effect on work-life balance (Beta = 0.35, p = 0.03) and psychological well-being (Beta = 0.51, p < 0.001). The qualitative study included in-depth interviews with 6 school administrators and focus group discussions with 20 teachers. The qualitative results demonstrated that school administrators and teachers had a convergent opinion on factors contributing to poor work-life balance, such as workload apart from teaching, urgent work during holidays, the burden of caring for family members, and financial debt. Additionally, factors contributing to teacher burnout, such as excessive workload, disliked assignments, monotonous tasks, and students lacking motivation to study, were identified. The merged results of the quantitative and qualitative studies can be summarized in four topics: (1) Teachers’ good work-life balance affects better psychological well-being and happiness, while poor work-life balance might affect greater burnout; (2) Teachers’ emotional intelligence and psychological capital affect good work-life balance; (3) Teachers’ emotional intelligence and psychological capital might reduce burnout; and (4) Teachers' emotional intelligence and psychological capital positively influence psychological well-being. In conclusion, teachers with high levels of emotional intelligence and psychological capital are likely to have better work-life balance and psychological well-being; in turn, these might reduce their burnout.

วัตถุประสงค์ : เพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างความสามารถในการฟื้นพลัง รูปแบบการเผชิญปัญหา และคุณภาพชีวิตในผู้ป่วยนอกที่มีภาวะซึมเศร้าที่เข้ารับการตรวจรักษาที่โรงพยาบาลธรรมศาสตร์เฉลิมพระเกียรติ วิธีการวิจัย : การวิจัยเชิงพรรณนา ณ จุดเวลาใดเวลาหนึ่ง ในกลุ่มตัวอย่างผู้ป่วยนอกที่มีภาวะซึมเศร้า ที่เข้ารับการตรวจรักษาที่โรงพยาบาลธรรมศาสตร์เฉลิมพระเกียรติ จำนวน 110 คน ผ่านการใช้แบบสอบถาม ได้แก่ แบบสอบถามข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล แบบประเมินโรคซึมเศร้า (PHQ-9) แบบวัดความแข็งแกร่งและยืดหยุ่นของชีวิต (CD-RISC) แบบสอบถามการเผชิญปัญหา และแบบวัดคุณภาพชีวิต (WHOQOL-BREF) ทดสอบความสัมพันธ์เชิงสาเหตุระหว่างการฟื้นพลัง ภาวะซึมเศร้า รูปแบบการเผชิญปัญหา และคุณภาพชีวิต ผลการศึกษา : จากกลุ่มตัวอย่าง 110 คน พบว่า ค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนนความสามารถในการฟื้นพลังเท่ากับ 20.5 (ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตราฐาน 7) ร้อยละ 60 ใช้กลวิธีเผชิญปัญหาแบบมุ่งจัดการกับปัญหาอยู่ในระดับดีมาก ร้อยละ 77.3 มีคุณภาพชีวิตโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับกลาง ภาวะซึมเศร้าและรูปแบบการเผชิญปัญหาสามารถอธิบายความแปรผันของการฟื้นพลังร้อยละ 26 และการฟื้นพลังสามารถอธิบายความผันแปรของคุณภาพชีวิตร้อยละ 55.30 สรุป: ภาวะซึมเศร้าและรูปแบบการเผชิญปัญหามีความสัมพันธ์กับคุณภาพชีวิตผ่านการฟื้นพลัง

In the United States, approximately 580,000 individuals were homeless on a single night in 2020. Homelessness can be categorized into three subgroups: sheltered homeless, unsheltered homeless, and unstably housed. Few studies have examined the relations between homelessness subtypes, shelter service utilization, levels of stress experienced, and health risk factors. This study aimed to empirically examine whether shelter status the previous night was related to current stress, recent utilization of shelter-based mental health services, and current health risk factors. Perceived Stress And Its Relationship To Moral Resilience Among Nurses In The Hail Region, Saudi Arabia, Hamdan Albaqawi, Maha Sanat Alrashidi

Background: This study aimed to determine the relationship between perceived stress and moral resilience among nurses.

Methods: The researcher used a quantitative–comparative correlational study design that utilized a self-administered questionnaire with 393 nurse participants in the Hail Region, Saudi Arabia. Adapted questionnaires were distributed through Google Form survey. Data collection was conducted between October and November 2021.

Results: The nurses were moderately stressed (21.69/30) but morally resilient (2.74/4). Perceived stress scale (p < 0.033) and moral resilience (p < 0.25) were found to be significantly associated with gender. The designated ward and age were not significantly associated with perceived stress and moral resilience. Conversely, the years of experience showed a significant association with perceived stress (p < 0.038) but not with moral resilience (p > 0.255). Finally, no relationship was observed between perceived stress and moral resilience (p > 0.248).

Non-pharmacological intervention alone or paired with pharmacological interventions is somewhat effective in treating and lowering rates of postpartum depression (PPD) in women. Undergraduate students reviewed studies of the use of pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments for postpartum depression. To narrow down results, the students based the review on studies completed within the last 10 years, focusing specifically on primiparas (first births) women. The prefrontal cortex (PFC), hippocampus, and amygdala play an important role in emotional health. However, adverse life events (e.g., violence exposure) affect the function of these brain regions, which may lead to disorders such as depression and anxiety.
