Objectives: To examine the job search, employment experiences, and job availability of recent global health-focused master’s level graduates. Methods: An online survey was conducted from October to December 2016 based out of Washington, DC. The study sample includes students graduating with master’s degrees in global health, public health with a global health concentration or global medicine from eight U.S. universities. Results: Out of 256 potential respondents, 152 (59%) completed the survey, with 102/152 (67%) employed. Of unemployed graduates, 38% were currently in another educational training program. Out of 91 employed respondents, 62 (68%) reported they had limitations or gaps in …

Evidence suggests that new nursing graduates entering the workforce struggle with decision making. Poor clinical decisions often lead to undesirable patient outcomes. Utilizing quantitative, causal-comparative, pretest-posttest design, this research explored the effect of four categories of clinical unit placements (specialty units, acute care, critical care, and emergency departments) on senior bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) students’ cognitive decision-making processes to explore which type of unit, if any, significantly changes nursing student cognitive processes while making decisions. Background: The widening gap between innovations in the medical field and the dissemination of such information to doctors may affect the quality of care. Offline computer-based digital education (OCDE) may be a potential solution to overcoming the geographical, financial, and temporal obstacles faced by doctors.
Objective: The objectives of this systematic review were to evaluate the effectiveness of OCDE compared with face-to-face learning, no intervention, or other types of digital learning for improving medical doctors' knowledge, cognitive skills, and patient-related outcomes. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is one of the leading causes of death in the United States especially in Hispanics. People with Metabolic syndrome (MetSyn) generally have high blood pressure, excess body fat and fasting glucose and abnormal cholesterol. We evaluated Hispanic (HS) and Caucasian (CA) women diagnosed with MetSyn in New Mexico and sedentary control with an initial screening and vascular measurements. Repetitive subconcussive impacts to the head are commonplace in soccer. The ability to detect the extent of neurological injury due to these impacts over the course of a season is paramount. PURPOSE: The purpose of the current study was to examine alterations in blood biomarkers of head injury over the course of a soccer season. METHODS: Sixteen National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) male soccer athletes participated in weekly blood sampling throughout an 18-week season. Patients and clinicians rely on activity trackers to monitor heart rate, calorie expenditure, and steps during training and interventions. However, the efficacy of activity trackers during vigorous exercise, is not widely studied. PURPOSE: The objective of this study was to compare the effectiveness of activity trackers during vigorous activity. METHODS: Nineteen participants completed twenty minutes of vigorous intensity exercise by running or incline walking on a treadmill.
