Marijuana (MJ) alleviates a variety of symptoms, including those associated with menopause, such as insomnia, irritability, depression, and joint pain. However, little work has addressed the use of MJ in a menopausal population, or the role of menopausal women’s MJ treatment expectancies in their MJ consumption. The current study examined menopause symptoms, expectancies of MJ induced relief from symptoms, MJ monthly use, as well as average intoxication among menopausal and post-menopausal women (N=115) who endorsed lifetime MJ use. Functional dyspepsia (FD) is a non-organic gastro-intestinal disorder that has a marked negative impact on quality of life. Compared with conventional pharmacological therapies, the traditional Chinese medicine weikangning (WKN) is a safe and effective treatment for FD. The present study aimed to determine the molecular mechanisms underlying the efficacy of WKN. The effect of different concentrations of WKN on the proliferation of the human gastric mucosal epithelial cell line GES-1 was assessed. Studies of green views out of a classroom window showed significant reductions in students’ mental fatigue (Li & Sullivan, 2016), and studies of indoor plants in hospital settings showed stress reduction and increased healing rates in patients (Ulrich, 1984). ADHD is estimated to cost the United States roughly $266 billion every year. ADHD is currently treated via medications, cognitive behavioral therapy, or more recently, neurofeedback. Neurofeedback – and biofeedback in general – is the process of providing a patient with information about autonomic bodily functions so that they may control said autonomic function. In this study we aimed to investigate the anti-inflammatory and immune-modulating properties of RCSC on three inflamed normal colon epithelial cell lines, InEpC, NCM 356, and CCD 841 CoN. As a comparative, we additionally analyzed the anti-inflammatory effects of Highbush blueberries on two inflamed colon cell cultures, NCM 356 and CCD 841 CoN. Polyphenols content and antioxidant activity in Artemisia sieversiana Willd. were investigated in relation to the altitude of the plant growth in the Western Pamir region. Antioxidant activity generally correlated with the polyphenols content. However, no significant association was found between an altitude of the sample collection and polyphenols content or antioxidant activity.

Merriam-Webster defines prolotherapy (PROLO) as “an alternative therapy for treating musculoskeletal pain that involves injection of irritant substance (as dextrose) into a ligament or tendon to promote the growth of new tissue”. Experimental research and multiple clinical trials have generated evidence suggesting that PROLO is effective at treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, including tendinopathies, joint instability and ligament laxity. PROLO may also hold a potential to delay or avoid joint replacement and rotator cuff surgeries. Further research is needed to demonstrate the therapeutic effect of PROLO unequivocally.

The aim of the present review is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of curcumin and fish oil as alternative or adjuvant treatments to NSAIDs and immune modulating medications for the treatment of chronic inflammation.

An online search of CINAHL, PubMed, Cochrane and Alt Healthwatchdatabases was conducted. It was limited to peer-reviewed articles and clinical trials in academic journals within the last ten years.

In addition, this study analyzed the genetic changes within the Notch signal transduction pathway associated with the effects of the extracts. Serum-free cultures of colon cancer cells (HT-29) and HT-29 stem cells were treated with the chemotherapeutic drug 5-FU to assess sensitivity.
