Magnesium (Mg) is one of the most important micronutrients, and therefore its role in biological system has been extensively investigated. Particularly, Mg has a strong regulatory role in the immune system. The aim of this study was to investigate the behavior of plasma magnesium and the immune response after half-ironman triathlon. Blood samples from six athletes were collected before and immediately after the triathlon competition. Magnesium plasma concentration and immune parameters were analyzed (total white blood cells (WBC), neutrophils, (NE), lymphocytes (LY), eosinophils (EO) monocytes (MO) and basophils (BA)). The aim of this study was to assess the aerobic capacity of men after acute myocardial infarction (G-AMI) and of healthy sedentary men (G-C) at the anaerobic threshold (AT) and at the peak of the exercise (up to physical exhaustion) during a ramp-type ergospirometric test (R-ET). The aim of this study was to compare two methods of body composition evaluation in postmenopausal women, and establish correlations with the Body Mass Index (BMI). Twenty seven postmenopausal women (58.03±5.33) were evaluated by two body composition methods: Bioimpedance (Biodynamics 310) and Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry (DXA). Results of the fat mass showed by the DXA was 38.21±7.46% of the body mass, and 39.05±4.40% by the Bioimpedance, with 0.76 of correlation (Perason’s correlation test). The aim of the present study was to analyze the effects of different rest intervals on the number of repetitions performed in the bench press exercise. Methods: 6 resistance-trained men (age 24.27±1.61 years, body fat 14.72±5.32 %, body mass 76.60±11.00 kg, 1-RM bench press 98.42±19.78kg) volunteered for the study. The running velocity on the anaerobic threshold (VAT) has been used as an important parameter of training performance. The purpose of this was to relate the VAT with the maximum aerobic velocity (MAV) and VO2max in two males. Age 26 years (+5.7), body mass 82.0 kg (+5.7) and height 182.5 cm (+4.9). The aim of this study was to verify the reliability of a computerized electrocardiography (Heart Ware System) adapted for rats.
