International Journal of Physical Activity and Health
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease characterized by cognitive impairment, with evidence suggesting that exercise can improve cognitive function. Our previous studies demonstrated that aerobic exercise improves cognitive dysfunction and enhances synaptic plasticity in APP/PS1 mice, while identifying the endogenous microRNA-3473e as a potential regulator of neuronal activity and cognitive function. However, the precise mechanism underlying this regulation remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the mechanism by which aerobic exercise regulates miR3473e to improve synaptic plasticity and cognitive dysfunction in APP/PS1 mice. Exercise intervention was performed on 3-month-old C57BL/6J and APP/PS1 mice with a 12-week moderate-intensity aerobic treadmill …

Long-term physical exercise is known to induce changes in brain plasticity. While extensive research has examined the effects of aerobic exercise, basketball, and badminton on brain plasticity in college students, the impact of combat sports on brain function remains underexplored. Combat sports, due to their high intensity and mental demands, may have unique effects on neuroplasticity. This study aims to investigate the influence of combat sports participation on brain function in university students, addressing a gap in the current literature. Method: This study comprised three groups: an experimental group of 14 students (8M/6F, 20.9 ± 2.3 years) practicing combat sports …

A136: A Literature Review On The Impact Of Smart Pe Classrooms On College Students, Peixiang Yan
International Journal of Physical Activity and Health
As digitalization, networking, and intelligent technologies continue to advance, “smart classrooms” have emerged as an innovative teaching model. In many traditional college physical education (PE) courses, instructors often employ a “one-size-fits-all” approach that can stifle some students’ enthusiasm and motivation. By introducing smart devices and digital platforms, smart classrooms aim to offer more personalized and interactive learning experiences. However, given the unique requirements of PE courses and the practical constraints within universities, the adoption of smart classrooms remains limited. To address this gap, the present review summarizes existing literature on the impact of smart PE classroom teaching models on college …

International Journal of Physical Activity and Health
High-load resistance training is a common method for developing power, but it may interfere with adolescents' bone development, increasing the risk of epiphyseal injuries and compensatory movements. Therefore, it is crucial to investigate alternative training methods that can enhance power development while safeguarding bone health. One promising approach is unstable surface training (UST), which enhances neuromuscular coordination and core stability while reducing joint stress. Although UST has demonstrated potential benefits in other areas, its effectiveness in improving power remains unclear. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the impact of UST on power development in adolescents and identify the optimal training …

With the acceleration of urbanization, many rural children move to cities with their parents as migrant children, but the urban-rural difference makes them face challenges in the integration process. As a wide range of social activities, sports have unique social and identity-building functions. Therefore, based on social identity theory, this study explores how sports can help migrant children integrate into the city. The theory emphasizes that individuals construct themselves and their sense of belonging through social classification, comparison, and positive differentiation. At the same time, the study analyzes the impact of sports participation on the social cognition of migrant children, …

The population remains physically inactive despite the proven benefits of physical activity. Promoting and maintaining sedentary undergraduates exercising is beneficial to their long-term development. According to the dual-process theory, behaviors are the result of not only reflective but also impulsive processes. Affective priming is assumed to be an efficient intervention to improve affective responses to exercise and might promote exercise behavior through the impulsive process. Therefore, the present study examined the effect of a four-week affective priming intervention on affective responses to exercise, exercise intentions, and exercise behavior. Method: Twenty-nine sedentary undergraduates (Mage = 20.07, SD = 2.05, female% = …
