The demographic features that will be analyzed include age, gender, pregnancy status, and follow-up trends. There will be an in-depth case study that will look at the perspective of a patient that experienced forms of gender-based violence during and after her pregnancy and the perspective of the counsellor assigned to this patient’s case. The University of Central Florida's Institute for Social and Behavioral Science (ISBS) partnered with the Orange County Drug-Free Office to undertake a gap analysis focused on substance use disorder treatment. Specifically, we designed a study to determine the capacity of treatment options, identify barriers to seeking treatment, and illuminate what works particularly well. The gap analysis results can guide future decisions on allocating resources best to ensure that treatment is accessible to all in need.

Study objectives: We aimed to estimate the prevalence of intimate partner violence (IPV) and associated risk factors in married women in rural villages of Gilgit Baltistan in Pakistan.
Methods: A cross-sectional design to assess the magnitude and factors associated with IPV in a random sample of 789 married women aged 18-49 years. A World Health Organization screening instrument was used to assess the presence of IPV in the previous 12 months. A locally validated instrument was adopted to identify self-reported symptoms of major depression according to the DSM IV. Violence affecting children (VAC) is a significant global health and human rights issue. This article highlights a new qualitative methodology, the Round Robin, for understanding the drivers of violence against children. Traditionally, qualitative research exploring VAC has focused on identifying the risk and protective factors which affect the likelihood a child will experience or witness violence. This exploratory study examined how racism and sexism among privileged White men intersect and vary to influence factors associated with sexual violence (SV) perpetration. Specifically, this study examined the interconnection of racism and sexism via latent profile analysis (LPA), how profile groups differentially predict attitudinal responses to a victim in an acquaintance rape SV vignette regarding victim blame and rape minimization (e.g., rape myth acceptance), rape proclivity, and bystander intentions to help, and whether or not these attitudes change based on the victim’s race (i.e., White or Black). This study focuses on the understanding of sexual consent in college-aged, young adults. Past research has investigated the different layers of consent, including affirmative, internal, and external consent and the role of sexual coercion in non-consensual, assault cases. These aspects of consent are not commonly discussed in high school level sexual education classes (Walsh et al. 2019). States also have differing laws and statutes when it comes to what does and does not constitute sexual consent (Decker & Baroni 2011:1084); these are referred to as the “grey areas” of consent. Research shows the prevalent psychological consequences that follow experiencing sexual trauma, so it is important to seek interventions that decrease those psychological consequences. The current study assessed change in levels of depression, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after disclosing online and reading #MeToo tweets. Participants consisted of 121 college students who were grouped by history or no history of sexual assault. Initial levels of depression, anxiety, and PTSD were assessed. Then, participants were asked to either disclose their sexual assault or trivial characteristics of their shoes. Afterwards, participants read tweets from the #MeToo movement or neutral tweets. In this paper, we examine the nature and limits of violence by way of a comparison of the physical violence and online violation, in terms of their form, structure and effects. We explore similarities and dissimilarities in what precedes the event, perpetrator intentions and motivations, the forms and types of violence, the medium through which they are delivered, who they are directed towards, the technologies and processes deployed, and their impacts. Batterer intervention programming (BIP) has shown up as a source of treatment for men who abuse women since the late nineteen-seventies and have since continued to expand. Research has been done to examine how effective these programs are in many different settings at reducing intimate partner violence, but little is known about programs specific to the state of Oregon. The incarceration of women has grown seven times since the 1980s, with up to 90% of incarcerated women being survivors of domestic violence. Women are five times more likely to be abused by an intimate partner. Intimate partner violence leads to unhealthy coping mechanisms like drug abuse and violence against perpetrators. In a gender-segregated digital space known as the Manosphere, a group of men calling themselves “Incels,” or involuntary celibates, express feelings of hostility and hatred towards women. Incels hold a low position on a masculine hierarchy where the men who hold the most power in society are those who have access to women’s emotional and sexual services. Incels are characterized by feelings of entitlement to women’s services and aggrievement by their inability to access them. Bell and Naugle (2008) proposed a comprehensive theoretical framework that includes multiple variables hypothesized to be involved in intimate partner violence (IPV) perpetration, including distal and proximal variables. The current study (1) assessed the extent to which childhood physical abuse victimization, interparental violence, insecure attachment, accepting beliefs about violence, sexism, stress, alcohol and marijuana use, relationship satisfaction, emotion regulation, and anger management were associated with physical IPV perpetration; (2) determined whether some of these variables influenced physical IPV perpetration more than others; (3) explored the mediation of distal variables by more proximal variables in predicting physical IPV perpetration; and (4) …

Several studies have reported an increased amount of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) being caused by the Police Sub-Culture and its three constructs of Authoritarianism, Burnout and Cynicism within law enforcement families (Blumstein et al., 2012; Johnson et al., 2005; Anderson & Lo, 2011; Rose & Unnithan, 2015).
