Grief As Slip: (How Little I Show) An Exploration In Clay, When Words Are Not Enough, Michelle A. Smith

Grief as Slip (how little I show) implies that even as we acknowledge our mortality and the fleeting nature of life, we still only reveal a fraction of our true selves or our deeper realities. The ceramic artwork in this exhibition carries and conveys a journey through the present and remembered emotions of the artists’ personal narrative. By juxtaposing the tactile nature of clay with the ethereal quality of human experience, Smith contemplates the profound interplay between material transformation and emotional resilience. Mithila Art has helped illuminate various aspects of the relationship between gendered Maithil social roles and Maithil women’s narratives in connection with a feminist participatory action research project conducted primarily in 2016-2017 in and around the northern Bihari town of Madhubani. While participatory action research philosophically and methodologically attends to process as much as product, Mithila Art played a role in the process and product of making a documentary film and in our capacity to understand and communicate with varied audiences about shifting Maithil gender norms. Period Poverty In Egypt, Amina Hani Boudah

Period poverty or Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) is a critical issue that affects women and girls globally. This study examines the socioeconomic and cultural barriers that contribute to period poverty in Egypt and proposes solutions to address these challenges. One survey was conducted among nursing schools across various regions in Egypt, yielding a sample size of 2,228 respondents. The study explores constructs including sanitary product accessibility, distress surrounding menstruation, affordability of sanitary products, and knowledge on menstrual hygiene. Results indicate significant challenges faced by females in accessing sanitary products, experiencing emotional distress due to insufficient access, and feeling embarrassed when …
