Cleveland's Lutheran Pastors have set in motion a project aimed at finding a more effective way of ministering to that city's intense human relations problems. The scene of one of last year's worst riots, Cleveland has relatively little to show for changing the conditions that provided the setting for last summer's outbursts.

Dr. Oliver Harms, President of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, has canceled a meeting originally called for December 8, in which he and his Vice-Presidents were to sit with "front-line" workers, to discuss problems attending the racial revolution as it affects the church. He made his announcement in a letter dated Nov. 16 and sent to all who had previously been invited to participate.

The Lutheran Church in America, meeting in convention June 21-29 in Kansas City, Missouri, passed two recommendations which commit that church body to a broader and more intensive ministry to the Indian American. The community center was considered an essential support for nine Negro families who are striking for decent wages, because it will provide a focus for an economic co-operative to sustain those who are opposing the current $3 per day wage scale paid to them for sunrise to sunset labor.
