This paper contributes to creative entrepreneurship studies through exploring ‘liminal entrepreneuring’, i.e., the organization-creation entrepreneurial practices and narratives of individuals living in precarious conditions. Drawing on a processual approach to entrepreneurship and Turner’s liminality concept, we study the transition from un(der)employment to entrepreneurship of 50 nascent necessity entrepreneurs (NNEs) in Spain, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. The paper asks how these agents develop creative entrepreneuring practices in their efforts to overcome their condition of ‘necessity’. The analysis shows how, in their everyday liminal entrepreneuring, NNEs disassemble their identities and social positions, experiment with new relationships and alternative visions of themselves, …

Rural America faces an increasingly dire access-to-justice crisis, which serves to exacerbate the already disproportionate share of social problems afflicting rural areas. One critical aspect of the crisis is the dearth of information and research regarding the extent of the problem and its impacts. This Article begins to fill that gap by providing surveys of rural access to justice in six geographically, demographically, and economically varied states: California, Georgia, Maine, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. There are many non-profit organizations which provide immigration and other legal services to immigrants in Santa Clara County. However, the capacity of legal services providers and their partners still face daunting challenges when trying to meet an overwhelming need that contrasts with limited resources (McAllister, 2015). Under these circumstances, the quality and effectiveness of immigration legal service providers in delivering their services is a subject of concern for immigrant groups. Community-based organizations are best suited to help immigrants with the legalization process (Cordero-Guzman, 2005) and their integration into the economic, political, and social mainstream in the long run.

The purpose of this study is to trace Hugo Chavez’s transition-towards-Socialism efforts in Venezuela between 1999 and 2008, and by means of discourse analysis. From this approach, the article studies three alternatives to a qualitative approach of stakeholders mapping as a tool for: understanding public problems in complex social environments, formulating public policy with sensitivity to social context, and developing public policy evaluations from a pluralistic approach. The analysis of collective action from Medellin’s cycling advocacy groups on the political agenda of the city, when seen through an Interpretativist Theoretical Perspective, is a reflection of the actual gap between the citizens and the public policy. This fact gives importance to the contexts, local knowledge, and the citizenry’s arguments. The case study is in itself a tool of methodological inquiry. After the Three- Day Learning Institute, classroom teachers were assigned a mentor who provided monthly supports to the classroom teachers in the adoption English language learners and cultural competency strategies with the goal of creating culturally and linguistic responsive classrooms. The housing foreclosure crisis of 2007-2010 in the United States disproportionately affected persons of color. Some states, such as Florida, were heavily impacted by property value losses yet little is known about the experience of losing a home and recovering from that loss from the perspective of the homeowner. Using Carlson’s conceptualization of resiliency theory, the purpose of this phenomenological study was to assess the impact of housing foreclosure and the experience of recovery from foreclosure on Black and Hispanic people in Lee County, Florida. This paper explores alternative strategies for taking service dogs seriously. I argue for multiple analytical perspectives to understand service dog issues (as opposed to overreliance on a single method). Analysts (including journalists, policy-makers, and activists) should reflect on media coverage, socio-economic realities, politics and law, and many other factors. Rather than thinking "either/or" on service dogs in society, we need to move to thinking "both/and," to critical analysis of multiple perspectives.
