For centuries the nations and principalities of the world have engaged in trading schemes to boost exports. Conquest, protection of domestic supply through tariffs and eroding domestic currency are all part of the historic policy harem. The United States has a foreign trade zone program. Who knew? FTZs evoke images of women locked inside a dark sweatshop in a jungle making hoodies for football fans. While these "developing" countries have unambiguously embraced FTZs as an export strategy, Uncle Sam has played the unwilling suitor to the concept, making the FTZ a common law revealed preference while engaged with but not …

This study examines the patterns of involvement in terrorist activities for the Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party/Front (DHKP/C) and Turkish Hezbollah members. The study is based on the assumption that terrorists differ in terms of their involvement in terrorist activities. In this sense, there are full-time and part-time terrorists. Full-time terrorists act professionally and do the assignments given by their commanders. Part-time terrorists, on the other hand, act on a non-professional basis and have their own motivations to participate in terrorist activities. For part-timers, there are various factors that may have an effect on their degree of involvement in terrorist activities. …

Programs to rate, grade, rank, or tier physicians based on quality or other measures are becoming more commonplace as the demand for greater transparency and accountability in the nation’s health care system intensifies. For many years, the preferred provider organization (PPO) reflected the most basic form of tiering—physicians were either included or excluded from the PPO network. However, this approach has become more refined as the tools for evaluating physician performance have evolved.

A suicide attack is an extreme modus operandi of terrorism. This research examines the application of two similar sociological theories to terrorism and specifically, to suicide terrorism. Three models are built to test if Merton‘s strain theory can explain the propensities of provinces to produce terrorists and suicide bombers in the first phase. Next, in Phase 2 one model is built on a combination of altruistic and fatalistic type variables to test if Durkheim‘s anomie theory can explain the probability of a terrorist to become suicide bomber or not. Nearly 100 million persons reside in urban and rural communities that can be considered medically underserved as a result of inadequate supply of primary care physicians and elevated health risks. A report by the National Association of Community Health Centers and the Robert Graham Center estimated that 60 million people are "medically disenfranchised" and lack access to adequate primary health care because of where they live, even though many have health insurance. This policy brief is the first of two to address antitrust considerations that arise in health system transformation aimed at producing greater clinical integration and greater levels of information about the quality and cost of care. The second policy brief will discuss the implications of several recent Federal Trade Commission rulings on physician joint contracting to achieve clinical integration and greater health information accountability. These rulings have significant implications for growing efforts, as part of health reform, to create entities known as accountable care organizations.

On 21 July 2009 while deminer [the Victim] was working in his clearance lane, investigating a detected signal with his hand trowel, he hit a mine on its top and caused it to go off. Narrative: While the deminer was trying to investigate a signal using the heavy RAKE and after he pinpointed it , and finished with the light RAKE the deminer hit the non visible AP mine (M14) by the heavy RAKE on the pressure plate which initiated the mine 2.2 metres away from the deminer.

The burner prepared one MK5 stuck mine inside the stuck mine burning pit; he burned the mine in the right procedure and lift the burning area to a safe distance. The mine took a long waiting time to be burned that caused the deminer to go back to the burning area to check the reason, on his way back to the burning area the MK5 stuck mine blasted and small fragments hit the burner in his chin and face and caused the some injuries.

Housing developers, providers, policy makers, and advocates, increasingly recognize that for some groups of individuals, access to affordable housing alone is "not enough." That is, some individuals require more than shelter. Examples include individuals who have chronic health conditions (e.g., HIV/AIDS), those with physical or cognitive limitations (e.g., persons with developmental disabilities, adults with physical disabilities), and those who have a combination of health conditions or who cannot thrive in traditional housing (e.g., persons who have been homeless, individuals with chronic mental illness).
